stupidly allergic to eggs
Hello!
Eggs are awesome for gaining! and I'm only doing it for 2 and a bit more months, but, (and heres the thing) I'm allergic to em! I was eating too many and all of a suddent my body went NOOOOO MOOOORREEEE and now my throat swells up n junk
I heard this was mighty common, so I was wondering if anyone knows if its the yolks? will i be ok with just the white (cause im going to need them when I'm cutting!) and if not, what is an alternative?
Ta muchly for the helperooni!
Love Geeg

So all of a sudden you've become allergic after years of eating eggs, and this for the rest of your life ? Is it because you ate too much of 'em or was it bound to happen anyway ? I think most of the time such allergies develop at younger age.
And to answer your question, you could be allergic to either egg whites or yolks, or both, but I've read that most of the time it's the egg white that people are allergic to.

It is most likely the whole egg. But I dont know too much about allergies. Not sure what u mean by alternative, like a protein alternative or an egg alternative?

hey hahn i dont think its a rest of life thing, its one of those things that happen when you eat too much and your tollerance goes away.. then you give it a rest and you can eat em again! i was like overdosing on them i guess :P
yeah Mr. Squishy hugs, i want something to eat instead! they're a great source of everything! Hopefully I'll be able to eat em again soon
i guess ill just stick with oats in the mornings til cuttin' makes me cut out brekky carbs
Thank you!

naah. very unusual to become allergic out of nowhere to something for the rest of your life.
however, it IS normal and DOES happen from time to time what you always eat...somehow you become allergic to it overnight. give it sometime off. If i were you, like you suggested, try to see if you can isolate it...do just whites and see what happens. but do in small quantity so you dont end up in the emergency room...

You may want to take a trip to the doctor for a battery of allergy testing. They may be able to determine whether or not you are allergic to all or part of egg, or maybe not the egg at all, but rather something you put on the egg.

Well that's bad. Eggs are one of the best thing you can eat when you're a gym rat and health nut.
I'm actually in the same boat as you G-Girl, although I'm intolerant and not allergic. I haven't really found anything to replace them. Low fat cottage cheese and the usual protein powder is what I use. I use unflavored powder so I can add it to pretty much anything I want.
Good luck.

Yup, happened to me in 93, have not had them since, miss them and loved them but I guess I ate too many and built up toxins from them to the point where my body now rejects them. Poultry too.

When I accidently get a dressing with yolk, I immediatly itch, so its still dangerous, my mouth gets slightly swollen too but I can have cookies and crepes and such made with eggs just nothing like quiche or direct eggs.
I use protein powder and fish on season but tend to eat less animal product when i can such as off and pre season, but also do have cottage cheese and dairy.
