Default kashi bars are great!

i bought some dark chocolate cherry and honey nut flax kashi granola bars to try them out, i think they are awesome... their stats are 120 calories, 5g proten, 24g of carbs, only 75 sodium, 4g of fiber!, and around 5-6grams of sugar which isn't that bad i think. The bar is made out of "7 whole grains". They have a really unique taste and texture to them, not like an ordinary cardboard tasting granola that u might have had in the past. I paid 2.80 for a box of 6 at wal-mart.

I picked up some of those bars last week, they actually taste pretty good.
Im going to start eating them as a breakfast, they are actually quite satisfying.

I agree. Kashi also makes a good protein bar -- Kashi Go Lean. There are several flavors, all w/ 13 grams of protein and no trans fat. Kashi makes a good tasting whole grain cracker, too, w/ no trans fat.

I agree, I like the Kashi.

However, I do have one issue. The protein is mostly Soy protein. Soy products introduced into the body contain isoflavones if I'm not mistaken. If I'm not mistaken (again) these elicit an estrogen response - the opposite of what a body builder wants. I was warned of this when I had gotten some Soy protein powder one time on accident. I don't know if the protein/granola bars would have this issue. I'd LOVE if one of our diet experts could come shed some light on this issue.

Also, I will also put in a good word for their cereals. The Go Lean cereal is very tastey as well as good for you. The Go Lean Crunch is very good too, though it will give your jaws quite a workout eating just a small bowl, its that crunchy and hard. I haven't tried their other products, just those two cereals.

Agree - Kashi is great stuff. The bars are usually my breakfast on the go, and the cereals are top shelf.

Kashi and a cup of hot green tea makes for a good breakfast. I recommend it highly.
