New Video Recipe Site For Bodybuilders - Need Feedback
Hi to all those who remember me, I have not posted on here in a while, been busy in the real world, and in my social world - but enough there is work to do.
When I first moved out of my parents home and had to cook for myself I had no idea how to cook, how to shop, what to eat, etc. I suspect there are many others out there like myself. So I made this new site. www.cookingwithconan.com I have not posted on the larger forums yet as I woulod like some feedback first, I chose here as the posters were more likely to write intelligent posts rather than outright flames as seems common on many
internet forums these days. At present I have about 1/2 the recipes I have filmed up and would appreciate any feedback before I place the rest of them up online. Thanks for your
time.

I can say that it's a good looking site, the first few I clicked on didn't have the video up, so I can't comment on that part. It certainly fills an essential niche, many of my friends still haven't learned to cook (and have a predictably poor diet). I'll look at the site further when there's more time and try to give some better feedback -- hope it works out well
for you.

As a professional Chef I can say that your approach is spot on. For beginners, technical terms and advanced technique are a turn off. The video will certainly help with this. By keeping the recipe format simple and the navigation clean I think you went a long way to encourage the beginner to try some of what's
presented. As an aside, I noticed that some of the recipes are good bases that could be built on with a few fresh herbs. this wouldn't significantly change the nutritional make up but would add to the versatility of the recipes. The tuna and fruit breakfast for example; a touch of
tarragon in apple cider vinegar would add vip to the mix and have benefits as well. You might mention this in the body of some of the recipe's to extend there use before the diner gets bored. Great site, I will go back. . .

Did you give the video a moment to load? All the videos are up, I think the advertising 'solution' I use delays the load time though. I can't really tell as I am connected via GPRS/EDGE which is has more delay than dial-up. Thanks for taking the time to look and write back.

Thanks. I did not know about the apple cider vinegar and tarragon, in fact I know little beyond the basics, which is why the recipes are all basic, add that I cook 8 times a day and everything has to be relatively quick and easy.
Thanks for the tip. I am just getting to know my way around the Thai herbs (I live in Thailand) and you are right some do have nutritional properties that are supplement like - and a lot cheaper.

Excellent resource, Conan. I will definitely be trying some recipes. The curry chicken and spicy thai entries are making me hungry, haha! The accompanying videos are helpful and a nice touch that most online cookbooks don't seem to offer. By process of
elimination, the kitchen is probably the area where I can improve the most in order to progress toward my goals, so I will be utilizing this site soon. Thanks Conan, and best of success with this endeavor!
