Yeah, they are great people in person too. I actually raced on a team with them at the Challenged Athletes Foundation Half Ironman in 2003. They did the swim portion. Dick pulled Rick in an inflatable raft for the entire 1.2 mile swim. I was so impressed - and then felt like I was cheating when I ran the half marathon. Seemed almost too easy to just run it, you know? Absolutely fabulous people. There should be a good piece on them on The Oprah Winfrey show (June 14 2007) and HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumble (June 20 2007). A Father's Day special. More info on ironmanlive.com.

They just competed at the 70.3 championships in Clearwater, FL. Team Hoyt has had very little time to train due to scheduled speaking engagments and they still pulled off a great finish!

I got to meet them at a local 10K a few weeks back and they are so down to earth. Their motto..."Yes You Can!" It seems to be a good mantra for me to repeat in my head as I train in these cold months.
