Protect the beer at all costs!
Gotta love a man who has his priorities straight.
Griffo where were you at when this happened?
DARWIN, Australia - An Australian man has been fined after buckling in a case of beer with a seat belt but leaving a 5-year-old child to sit on the car's floor, police said Tuesday.
Constable Wayne Burnett said he was "shocked and appalled" when he pulled over the unregistered car Friday in the central Australian town of Alice Springs.
The 30-can beer case was strapped in between two adults sitting in the back seat of the car. The child was also in back, but on the car's floor.
"The child was sitting in the lump in the center, unrestrained," Burnett told reporters Tuesday.
"I haven't ever seen something like this before," he said. "This is the first time that the beer has taken priority over a child."
The driver was fined 750 Australian dollars — about $710 — for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and for failing to ensure a child was wearing a safety belt

To truly judge these people, we really need to know what kind of beer it was. Was it New Castle, or Bass? Or was it Natural Light (or the cheap Aussie equivalent)? Because you don't buckle in Natty Light.

Aussies version of natty or PBR is called Fosters, shit is terrible. It's funny you mention Newcastle, because that is the "Shit beer" of England.
Gimme a Guinness, and I'll be your friend until the pint goes dry!

Call me a wuss, but I can't drink a beer I can chew.
I think it is ironic that the incident took place in DARWIN.

Actually, Guinness is one of the LIGHTER beers out there. Just because its dark in color doesn't make it thick.

I'd buckle in some Guinness. At least I would the bottles or cans with the widgets. Man, I haven't had a beer in longer than I can remember (trying to lose more weight). I'd better stop reading this or I'll start drooling in my keyboard.

I fell in love with VB when i visited "OZ". It's a shame it can't be found in the US
Granted this was when I was 18, and since my beer pallet has become much more advanced, But I still want to go back down under for a schooner of VB
