im new to martial arts and to this forum but what i'd really like to know ,and i know this will sound bogus, but does anyone know ninjitsu or know someone who knows ninjitsu. i bet it's probably a lost art but i'd still like to know,it has the most fear factor in my book and from what i've heard over the years its bark is as hard as its bite, but that's just my opinion. anyone care to discuss this?

Heyo, I'm new. Studied ITF Taekwondo for 6 years now, and hopefully would like to progress in Tai Chi and Taekkyun (although the latter is unlikely). Tried Krav Maga and loved it but couldn't keep going in it due to financial constraints. Also went for Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing over the summer but nearly got screwed over by the McDojo. Nice to meet you guys ^_^

I train Tan Tui Mantis and Shaolin Kung Fu, along with Yang and Chen style Tai Chi. Unfortunately I don't get to practice as often now that I'm in the military..

I've trained in Uechi-Ryu Karate (brown belt) & Kenpo Karate (2nd Dan Black). I now train in Small Circle Jujitsu (1st degree brown) & I have found it to be an extremely effective street-wise self-defense system.

Elemental fighting
Fire-constant offence and movement. Everything's a weapon
Water-defence and reversal moves.
Razor-any contact causes pain
kick n slash-gotta be flexable for this crap! If your in range your not safe and I dare you to try and block it.
Earth- constant overdose of ki. adrenalin always pumping
and some prestige fighting
gentle fist
drunken boxing
monkey
death
I'm pretty sure you havn't heard of it, we're not suposed to spread word to the masses, but I'm sure you won't tell anybody.

Hi there, I'm a newbie as well. I train BJJ at a Gracie Network School. I've been doing it for about a year so far, but I've been out several months due to an injury. I can't wait to get back into it next month! Also, my little boy trains BJJ at the school as well.

I've been wrestling for years and just started Jui Jistu, it seems like an easy jump to make. Just have to get used to being on my back.

I was in for Karate, Aikido and Judo, but the one I love most is Jet Kune Do. Unfortunately, in my country there's no place to learn it , so I continues to study Karate

Ive been training in very old-fashioned shito-ryu karate-do here in Central America, where protection equipment and injury lawsuits were myths of faroff lands, so the training was a bit more realistic during all the 80s and part of the 90s, before the sport point-'fight' virus began to erode the martial aspects. Also, I trained in grappling with judo practicioners since back in 1986, and started to do full-contact non-stop fighting on a 3days-per-weekly basis with a fight-loving kungfu instructor here. I got two dislocated knees, a broken nose, and eleven stitches in the face in the course of five years but in was very instructive. Also, when back in 1991 I had trouble throwing off a wrestler-footfall player who got on top of me in "playful" training, and got the mount, I started to research groundfighting, which judo schools here failed to cover enough, and thus ended up learning about brazilian JJ. Without any instructor, I just observed videos, saw the basic priniciples that were derived from general foundations and got the hang of the basic strategies, and proceeded to teach myself groundfighting with the help of a couple of young wrestlers and judo practitioners who were willing to drop in any concrete backyard anywhere. We all learned a lot though a real BJJer would have laughed at us. When the videos and literature finally got here, we had already been fighting for years, and it was a vindication for us who were laughed at by the people who believed that mixing arts was dumb.
Nowdays, my practice is limited 'cause of various injuries and no decent training partners around anymore, and even the tradiotional karate schools here do a watered down version of karate that seeks very hard not to teach fighting or teach counterproductive sporty stuff, neglecting the foundations that should be the basis of all martial artists and serve as springboard for the choice to go into sports, mma, kata, or whatever.
My wife still beats me up regularly, though.
Jorge
