Aikido Grand Master Vs MMA Fighter
The Aikido Master, Kiai Master Ryukerin has a 200-0 wins MMA/Vale Tudo, and that he bets 5 grand he can beat any MMA fighter. The beginning of this video has them signing the contracts .The opponent (Youger Guy) is a Karate Black Belt, and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu Purple Belt.

What was the old guy doing at the end of the fight, picking up pieces of his face? Neither guy showed great skill, but yeah I think traditional martial arts are not nearly as effective as MMA. Although combining traditional Jiu Jitsu, Judo and Karate into your game will definitely help, only relying on them will not guarantee wins in a fight. Hope the old dude was ok!

wtf was THAT?
1 - I can't think of any experienced aikidoist, young or old, who has lost balance that easily, much less any 'Grand Master'. Even the stereotypical hippie aikido-ka doesn't get knocked on his bum that easily. That was the first alarm set off.
2 - My searching skillz may not be uber-1337, but I can't find ANY information on the aforementioned 'Grand Master' other than reposts of this video link. I searched on Google, Live.com, and Aikiweb.
I call BS on this video. Old Man River is a fake. Nothing to see here. Anyone else a bit suspect?
P.S. Not trying to start a flame about TMA vs MMA.. just questioning the veracity of the video on its own merits.

Yeah the old guy sure didn't look like he'd ever been in a vale tudo match before...or even had anyone throw a punch at him.

I've seen this video before, and the beginning of it is missing. It shows him "sparring" with his uke, and eventually using his "chi" to flurry a guy and throw him down. If you see the first part of the video you'd see what an ass he is. He's not legitimate at all. I don't think this is meant to be a "see how ineffective Aikido is" video, but to show how poorly this guy is at whatever he trains in.
I've trained in Aikido, and this is not it. The full video is on youtube, or at least it was, but I can't find it.
To see a martial artist who's got the fastest hands I've seen (next to Bruce Lee), who has really devoted himself to martial arts, an whom I've got tremendous respect for, go here.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV6JdzCbXFE
Obviously there is a lot of situations in that where it's set up, but he's bar none the most talented guy I've seen in years.
Sorry for getting off topic Python.

Thanks man.
I don't know what device he's using, but I want one to. I've got a suspicion it's not supposed to be used for what he's using it for though.
How bout that chin up at the end there. That takes a whole other kind of strength.

I know what you mean. I wouldn't even know where to search for one. That's the first time I've seen that thing. Maybe somebody in the bodybuilding and strength training section might know.
I'll make a topic there. Worth a shot.

Cheers. I d/l that one off a P2P program, and wondered for a very long time who this guy was.
Wicked fast hands.
