the last season of TUF was a special circumstance because it was marketed as "the comeback". So all the winners got was cash, sponorship money and one title shot. Neither fighter from the last season is even worth a one year contract as they're all pretty much 2nd and 3rd tier fighters.

Interesting watching Mirko hunt & kick down his flailing prey, but otherwise a TOTAL disappointment.
WTF with Lutter?
Did he break up with his old lady or something?
I thought he would be so much more focused than that...would NEVER let that happen. Christ.

yep i agree. It was like watching a lot of fights that you either knew the winner before hand (Jackson, Miro, Silva) or the fight was boring (Coyte). The best fight of the night was one of the prelims that wasnt shown live. I'm almost glad we werent subjected to GSP vs Serra. The next UFC event may end up like this one did. Randy and Sylvia will headline it but I dont expect it to make it out of the first if, and thats a big if, Sylvia takes the fight to Randy. And Matt and Franklin seem to be setup with opponents that they're expected to win (of course if Franklin fights MacDonald, it could be a good fight and I would love to see MacDonald get a win over Franklin). Matt is currently set to fight Chris Lytle, one of the "come back" guys. Other than that, Sobral will be fighting Lambert (I'm not really interested in this fight) and no other fights have been confirmed yet. So it looks like UFC68 will be mostly hype and another possible disappointment.

I guess my buddy was right about Lutter. He said he looked like he was already beat 2 weeks ago. Too bad.
I missed the fight, but from everyone I've talked to it sounds like I didn't miss too much.

The following are the reported fighter pay outs for UFC 67 "All or Nothing", as released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. As always, most fighters make quite a bit more after unreported bonuses and other income (sponsorships, etc.).
-Anderson Silva ($71,00) def. Travis Lutter ($18,000)
-Mirko CroCop ($350,000) def. Eddie Sanchez ($30,000)
-Quinton "Rampage" Jackson ($170,000) def. Marvin Eastman ($30,000)
-Patrick Cote ($20,000) def. Scott Smith ($12,000)
-Roger Huerta ($12,000) def. John Halverson ($3,000)
-"Lyoto" Ryoto Machida ($36,000) def. Sam Hoger ($7,000)
-Terry Martin ($8,000) def. Jorge Rivera ($12,000)
-Frank Edgar ($6,000) def. Tyson Griffin ($9,000)
-Dustin Hazelett ($6,000) def. Diego Saraiva ($3,000)
Total disclosed fighter pay out: $803,000
Looks like they uped Sanchez's pay to cover any possible plastic surgery or medical bills after the fight.

the Frank Edgar / Tyson Griffin fight was insane! I can't believe he was able to walk after holding off tapping to the kneebar for so long!
Lutter had made a comment that he was having trouble getting motivated to cut weight...if a shot at the title and the chance to prove that you belong with the sport's "elite" isn't enough to motivate you, then what is? Anyone else think that he'll see out his contract fighting dark matches?

he doesnt have a contract. The next time he fights, it'll be in King of the Cage.

i thought that when they won, they received a $100,000 contract (5 fights @ 20k), not $100,000 cash and a title shot....don't remember where i read it, will try to find it...I could be wrong though, it has happened before! ;-p

Dana said Travis lsot alot by not making weight for his title shot, but he showed he is a UFC class fighter, so we will see him again in the octagon.

I agree that he is a good fighter, i have seen a few of his pre TUF fights and he looked pretty good...I am just astounded that he would lack the motivation to train/prepare for a title shot...
