When i was watching this fight I kept thinking Rocky and Clubber Lang...the fans were booing and nobody seemed really happy. But I don't think this was an upset and I don't know why everyone on TV was saying that. Yeah, being on your "home court" does help a little but Rampage killed Chuck a couple years ago too.
I like Lidell but I'm happy to see a new champ, especially one as charasmatic as Rampage. It'll make the upcoming year interesting!

Rampage is my HOMETOWN BOY! Go Memphis!
We watched the entire card last night on PPV, and the only thing more exciting than seeing Rampage get his due (again) was seeing Houston Alexander prove what a massive fighting machine he really is by pounding the shit out of a surprised and "heavily favored" Keith Jardine.
Did you see Alexander's arms? The guy is terrifying to look at! Powerhouse!

i think you meant Houston Alexander; and yes he put on a great show. He has a 3 fight deal, so we will see him again. Hopefully it was't a one time performance.
From what i ahve read, he beat 3 heavweights in a tournament a while ago (as a LH 205). And then was offered the Jardine fight. Took it. And won.

WOW! Iceman got thawed out. Not only that, but it's the first time in Liddell's career that he didn't avenge a loss.
Yet another stunning upset in the world of MMA.

I don't know why everyone thinks this was an upset, for one, Rampage already beat Liddell pretty badly before. I didn't think either fighter would get a k.o. though... Liddell has a pretty good chin, and Rampage has never been knocked out by anything except muay thai knees. And even then it took a good 10-20 knees before he was out. Just like Henderson beating Wanderlei... Henderson has always been a top contender imo, he has a really good chin, and extremely hard to finish. The Rampage Henderson fight will be a really good fight.

i think id call it an upset..because liddell is the face of mma n wit all the hype iceman was supposed to win..nutin to take awy from rampage..he is a grea fighter n might hold title for awhile now...can u imagine him fightin henderson n henderson winnin..he will hold ufc lightheavy...pride lightheavy n middleweight...henderson would be top of the game..pound 4 pound champion perhaps?

If Rampage is the new champ, then he might be facing Tito at some point.
Now, given Tito couldn't defeat Chuck in three matches, what are the odds he could stop the Rampage?
