Cung le vs Frank Shamrock
I did a search and did not find anything about the match today 3/29/08 about Cung Le and Frank Shamrock.
These guys are both great but I am routing for Le.

shamrocks washed up! needs 2 retire. he has no ground game skills. soon as he's tooken down he gets the crap beat out of him everytime. his face was so swollen and bruised from the beating ortiz gave him. he was almost like a baby with no defense!

everytime ive seen his fights hes gotten his ass beat badly like for instance the fight stanger referenced with ortiz. ortiz made shamrock look so stupid in the ring. maybe in his prime he was a force to be reckoned with but its prety apparent hes well past it now.

im sure he could pass some along as a coach, but in reference to his in ring ability well lets just say his days are over! majority of MMA in UFC have a better ground skills then ken. i'd even be willing to bet theres a few under his weight class that could even mop the octagon with ken.

Him and his brother are both has-beens. It doesn't really matter who wildstang was thinking about, they're both stupid.
In that fight he thought he had it in the bag.. he was taunting Cung Lee and laughing doing hand motions like "Bring it.. come on.. haha" and he got owned.
Kind of like that time he was trying to piss off Bas Rutten by laughing at him and sticking his tough out when they were tied up on the ground?
Also reminds me of the time his brother ken got punked out on The Ultimate Fighter
when Tito Ortiz jumped at him and scared him hahaha.

hmmmm...enlighten me as to wich part, the part about washed up maybe? its no secret his games gone.
i know it aint the part were ortiz beat the living shit out of him because many people witnessed that! i guess it could be no ground skills maybe? i stated that because if you ever look through all his fights once someone takes him down he can barely defend himself and the fights get stopped because he lays there taking the beating hardly ever fighting back with anything other then his face.

In all fairness, Ken is an older athlete... he was great in the 90's when the game was a little simpler, and when the talent pool was a lot smaller. However, Couture's gotten his testis handed to him on many occasions; yet he's regarded as one of the greatest. Shamrock's always been hot or cold. But unless you've been there, it's unfair to call him washed up.
At least he always comes to fight, unlike Henderson--man did he blow against Silva-- Starnes--he shouldn't even be there... I'd be ashamed to corner Mr. Marathon--Koschek, Arlovsky--in all fairness, he has been prone to vaginal injuries his whole career...

What is it with Frank Shamrock and cheapshots. The last 3 fights that I have watched him in he has been warned by the ref and in one he was DQ'd. He used to be a good fighter back when UFC started, but he is out of his league now. Too old and talks too much shit. He is a great promoter, but promoting doesn't win fights.
Cung Le broke Shamrock's arm with one of his kicks and Shamrock hung in til the end of the round. The guy is tough that's for sure, but Le kicked his ass. I would love to see Le transfer over and fight UFC when his contract is up. He is a definate up and comer.

Shamrock is an entertainer more than a fighter. He's got caugh up on his own hype, and, as you said, he's too old and out of the game.
The last couple of years have produce a "new breed" of MMA fighters specialized in keeping the fight standing but also with obscene wrestling and submission skills (.ie. GSP or Thiago Alves). It is no longer the GnP wrestler or the submission specialist with a-ok striking skills, or the rare uber striker with takedown defense (.ie. CroCop in his days.)
Either of the Shamrocks would be eaten alive nowadays. Even superb athletes that until recently were kings (Hughes for example) are getting picked apart by these new fighters.
So, Shamrock's antics are just his entertaining gimmicks combined with the frustration of knowing he's ancient history by today's standards.
