Hey ghl, I had mine surgically repaired about a year adn a half ago. I hope you have already started therapy and a CPM machine. Listen to your therapist, do ALL the exercises he/she recommends and listen to your body. It will be painful at times (especially getting that range of motion back) but it is well worth it.

As I mentioned on the other thread on this forum, take it slowly!

- Never blindly follow the advice of someone not medically qualified (including me!) Sport coaches especially tend to be pathetically unrealistic about recovery rates from serious injuries and the relevent rehab. With injuries: Macho=BAD!

- Try to avoid unnecessary strains in the early months, e.g. don't lift heavy objects

- If your doctor says not to do something, trust him/her, they tend to have seen all sorts of rushed rehabs that have been botched.

- Never miss your physio sessions, slow and consistent is better than quick but inconsistent.

- Keep away from cycling! (A personal point that set me back 3 months in rehab when I decided to go for a short 10mile ride)

- On cold days, keep your knee warm.

Short but hopefully it will help.

ghl, listen to engr. I tore my pcl in half along with mcl. I did not listen to my PT and I did not do my exercises. I'm a dumbass. I had to go back in and the doc literally had to jump on my leg. Then it was broke free and I started to do my exercises. That was no fun at all and it was the worst pain I have ever felt. Do thing right the first time. You will be happy you did. Good luck!
