Hard lump behind nipple
I am 24 years old. I noticed a hard lump behind my right nipple. I was wondering if anyone ever experienced that before and you had any ideas what it could be. I hope not cancer.

What is gyno? No I haven't ever used steroids or pro-hormones. The only supplements I ever used, and it has been a while, is protein, ZMA, creatine, glutamine, BCAAs and NO2. I did read that men can develop breast cancer. This freaks me out.

It sounds like gyno. I have had gyno surgery (removal of breast tissue). It is most commonly caused by steroid/prohormone use,but can also be caused by puberty. It is caused by the improper balance of testosterone/estrogen in males. Gyno is commonly reffered to as bitch tits. Its relatively common, but sucks, and I had to get it cut out. I look to good elsewhere to have manboobs. lol
Herc, you should get it checked out. I had a biopsy on the tissue they removed and it was benign, thank god! You are probably fine, but get it checked.

Skeet....was the surgery considered cosmetic? I seem to only have this on my right side. I was big into powerlifting for years. I was in pretty good shape at around 2651bs. Almost two years ago I quit working out all together. I am now 315 lbs and it as been while since i was in the gym. Could rapid weight gain cause this. My pecs really did get soft after I quit lifting. I was bench pressing 455 for 1 rep max. This lumb just showed up yesterday and today it seems to be bigger and my right nipple seems to have gotten bigger. This is freaky.

Men can develope breast cancer. Get it checked out. Hopefully it's just a fatty tumor, but don't wait.
Good luck.

I have a lump on the right side and the surgeon told me that it is not in the breast or muscle. He asked if it was bothering me and that if it was he’d take it out right there in the office. He thought that it was a sweat gland or hair follicle turned cyst. Bottom line, go see your medical doctor.

When I was a teenager, I had a lump in my right breast. Fortunately for me the tests revealed it to be a swollen gland. Unfortunately for me the same tests revealed that the cause of this swelling was due to a "problem" with my pituatary gland. Several brain scans and such later, I was put on a course of medication that solved both problems, although now still (15 years later) whenever I get too stressed a small gland on the back of my head goes hard, and takes a few days to go back to normal. Fortunately it is not noticeable.
But I think that you cannot take chances and you should have it checked by your quack ASAP.

Breast Cancer
Hello,
As per the reply you have already received Men definitely can get breast cancer and you should have your lump (biopsied) tested immediately (yesterday).
If it is benign (does not have cancer) it can be removed for cosmetic reasons.
If you have used androgenic steroids in the past they could have increased your chances of getting cancer including breast cancer.
This is definitely not gynecomastia (male breasts) please disregard all messages about this.
Testing will involve the doctor inserting a needle and taking a sample of the tissue of the lump called aspiration.
For your health sake get it checked out ASAP.
Regards,
Darryl C

lots of things can cause it. But, since no one here is a doctor, and even if they were, go get it checked out. I drove my self crazy for about a year a long time ago because I was getting "bumps" on my hands and arms from time to time. So I did the dumb thing and searched online for an answer...and i'm almost certain you can type in "stub toe" as a symptom in a medical database and various forms of cancer showed up. So after putting it off for a long time, I finally went to a doc and found out i was simply alergic to the cold (cold urticaria). I was lucky because my signs were the early warning signs for a number of different cancers. Anyway, back to the main point: go to a doctor. If its nothing serious then you'll know and you'll no longer worry about it. If its something serious, then catching it early can help alot. Simply ignoring it and hoping it will go away on its own is like playing russian roulette with your life; do you really want to gamble with the only life you have?

Breast lump
Hi,
I am a consultant pharmacist whith a good knowledge of medicine and its practise.
I am confident that a lump behind one breast is not gynecomastia since it is only affecting one breast.
I would agree that the member should have it absolutely checked out ASAP.

I had the same thing, and it was gynecomastia, so don't be so quick to tell him otherwise. Gynecomastia comes in several forms. I got it removed, and it was relatively hassle free. If you find out it is gyno, this is a good site : www.gynecomastia.org . Good luck.

For what it is worth, Gyno or not, lump or not bitch tits or not....hell I don't care if someone here even said it was an alien implant to get more people to eat oatmeal.....go see the doctor instead of relying on conflicting info by a bunch of us here.
It is your life, and it may or may not be at risk right now.
Did I scare you? GOOD!!!
Sure you could guess it is not something bad, and it may not be. But what if your guess was wrong? Quit focking about and go find out what it is!

AMEN!!!! I think that the users of this site that wish to find out what their injury is should simply see their doctor and come back here afterwards with thoughts.
Doctors are the people whose opinions matter!!!! Not a bunch of Avg. Joes
