My wife has been on 5 statins all with the same results.....elevated liver enzymes out of control. For the past 2 yrs they have tried to put me on statins and I said I will find someting else.....have basically tried everything that is natural with no results.

Recently I came across a product called Res-Q 1250 www.n3inc.com that offers money back if your results do not come down drastically. I will find out my initial reading after being on this product in the next 14 days.

The product is not cheap, but if it works I would rather be on this than anyone of those statins.

Rew Q 1250 is an excellent product. However, it is very expensive. There is a multitude of fish oil products on the market at competetive prices. You must look for a product that is purified to avoid mercury toxicity from the seafood and there are plenty of these products many at your local health food store. You should be taking about 1200 mg of the epa and dha in the fish oil. In addition if you have to lower your ldl futher you can add red yeast rice to the fish oil. Another, product that I have found that can be very effective is policinol. It is easy to find information on this product on google as well. Please do not forget that combing these products with a proper diet can make the difference between success and failure. Eating fruits, veges, meats (lean) fish and staying away from the processed foods and sugars. High quality starches like beans, whole
wheat bread and brown rice are a must. Good luck.

I have struggled with High Cholestral for many years. I have never really tried something natural. But just today I had my checked and it was 175. All blood readings and liver normal. I was over 225 less then one year ago taking Zolcor. I have been as high as 354. Having the after affects of Liptor, Zolcor. Now taking Vytorin with no problems and great results. Natural seems better. But the Vytorin has been great for me.

Hey macattack, vytorin works for me too, although it was raised to 20/80...I also take 2-1200 Omega 3 after trying several fish oils...my ldl is around 70... I've tried red yeast but with little improvement

Regardless of what type of therapy you utilize to get your cholesterol under control, you should realize that you have other things to worry about as well. Prolonged elevated LDL levels result the development of atherosclerotic plaques that when coupled with high blood pressure and other factors put you at risk for a thrombotic event (stroke, MI, angina or PAD). If you've had elevated LDL's for an extended period of time you should talk to your MD about other forms of preventative therapy (anti-platelet medications, aggressive BP control, diet & exercise...). Even if you get the cholesterol under control, the damage may already be done. Remember cardiovascular disease is still the #1 killer in the US. Eliminating all of your risk factors is the best defense to avoid it.
