Default Tortilla chips

Hey I know potato chips are very bad for you due to them being deep fried in oil giving them lots of fat and calories. But how healthy are tortilla chips? I really like chips and salsa and I am looking for a new snack, as I am sick of eating peanuts all the time. Are these tortilla chips fried as well, also are the blue ones better for you (similar to whole wheat). I really know nothing about nutrtion other then not stuffing myself like a pig, so any input would be great.

they are made from corn tortillas, cut into shape, then fried, similar to potato chips. Tortillas are loaded with fat and corn is a good carb source. However there are healthier options for tortilla chips. I make my own salsa, out of fresh ingredients and the chips I eat are made from organic corn, and baked. Not a terrible snack, but I would stay away from them if you are cutting

I'm just the same I just love crisps! (Potatoe Chips in the States r called Crisps here), My advice is stay away from them, here they are made of potatoe and of corn but taste more or less the same and the nutrional values r similar, baked r obviously better for health but still lots of carbs, jus stay away from them theyre not worth it and I find theyre also addictive, the longer I don't eat them the less I want them and the more I eat them the more I want them, check the packet and you'll see nutrition isn't much different either way, my advice is train yourself off them it's better for u in the longrun, i've been away from them for two weeks now since I started my healthier eating and I feel great(had just one since). Good Luck either way keeping away from the delicious rogues! salt&vinegar flavour is(was) my fav...hehehe!

Once in a great while I'll have Taco Salad and I throw in a couple of the Tostito's light tortilla chips made with Olean. They aren't the best for you but from a calorie point the only have like 90 per 9 chips and they add a little crunch.

I bought a bag of those baked blue corn toritlla chips from the grocery store and the bag says about 140 calories per 15 chips.

i dont know how bad or good they are for you but I was suprised at how good they actually tasted, not as salty as I normally like my chips but thats a good thing.

I dont have the bag in front of me at work, but I think these are the chips.
