Default Whey protien consumption

For my workout routine, I lift every other day and do cardio everyday(1 day rest on sunday). For my 4-5 meals i take a day two of them involve whey protien shake with either milk or water. My goal is to add some muscle mass and at the same time cutting.

My question is, on days i do not lift should i only have one 1 serving of the powder or should I still take two?

I'm pretty sure that would depend on what else you are eating that day. It is recomended that you take protien before and after your workout although I'm sure there will be people who dissagree with that.

The reccomended amount of protien is 1 gram per pound of lean body weight. If you aren't getting close to that with one shake perhaps take two. Also you have to look at calorie intake in that. If you are cutting, you have to make sure the calorie intake is less than what you are using. I find nutrition to be a bit of a balancing act so you need to look at all the meals you are consuming, all the calories you are burning and try to build a Carb-Protien-Fat ration to fit your goals.

how much protien is in each scoop? Your body builds muscle while it is resting so the protein is important everyday. IM0 if you want to build muscle cut back on the cardio to just your warmup or off days, once you get to your desired mass then cut. It will be much easier. Unless you mean that you want to tone up. Also take some BCAAs and some fish oil. If you are very serious add some creatine.

if you absolutely have to have the cardio in there then you can compensate some with the diet, carbs and such for the run pre and post. try to keep the run within a short period of time. half hour or so to keep in the glycogen burning stages.
