Default My New Diet strategy

Hey all, I haven't been on here over the holidays, so i hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a great New Year! Hopefully you all didn't get too drunk...

...I did though, unfortunately

Now i think about it, it's probably been around 15 months, since i last trained consistently for at least 2 weeks straight at the gym, following a proper diet and workout routine. That was before Christmas, 2006!!
Since then i've been trying to get back into getting healthy and training, but i kept failing due to several reasons; work related issues, family related issues, and just generally me making up excuses. Like i am now.

Now i don't really want to sound like a newbieor say what a lot of newbie's repeatedly say on EF, although i suppose i am a newbie now. 15 months from training...in need of new ideas....and aiming for a goal i never aimed for back when i trained. My goal used to be to pack on size, regardless of if i gained some fat, which i did, because i still drank plenty of beer. Over the last 15 months i continued to drink beer, but didn't even eat healthy or train. So i've lost shed loads of muscle and gained shed loads of fat. Well, not so much where i'm over weight or anything, but its an issue. Beer gut sticking out, and developing boobs

So this is my new start, i've publicly admitted all the excuses were down to me, i fucked it all up. Now i intend to fix that. I just need help. From you guys. My goal is too trim down, tone up, get a six pack for summer...blah blah, you've heard it all before. I'm going on a holiday in July, which gives me a good 5 to 6 months to train hard.

1) Firstly, what kind of goals could i expect to achieve within those 5 to 6 months?

2) Next, does anyone have any advice on diet, meal suggestions etc.? (I have already looked around the website, food idea's section, etc.)
I'm trying to cut down on the carbs, as i think i need to? Particularly towards the end of the day, but whenever i eat healthy, all i seem to eat are sandwiches. Tuna sarnies, Chicken sarnies, etc. etc., I can't seem to think of a meal which i can prepare in advance (due to work) which contains little or no carbs.

3) With regards to training, i planned to train 6 days a week (not immediately, take it easy first), doing some form of cardio each of those six days, whether it be sprints, long distance, or circuit training. On alternate days i will also do full body weight training, and on the other alternate days i will do core training. How does this sound?

4) What i plan to do here, is every couple of days i will report on here what i eat throughout the day, this should keep me motivated when i see what i've eaten, and when you all throw abuse at me for eating it Now i'm officially starting tomorrow, but i'm going to put todays food on here, just as motivation.

Out of bed around ten: Oatmeal, pineapple juice (not bad eh?)
3 o clock: 4 wholemeal chicken sarnies (again) ..............packet of crisps uh oh
Ate hardly anything the rest of the day due to work, and my lack of preparation and meal ideas, got home around 8ish, then stuffed my face as i was so hungry and couldn't wait for anything to cook. I raided the fridge, had a small packet of hoola hoop thing, small bar of chocolate, a small pork pie, 3 biscuits, then 3 toasts with cheese + ham on (i love those!)....Oh, also followed by two cans of beer
...Be gentle...

Thanks for your time everyone, i hope this can help me motivate myself to achieve my goals, and hopefully other people on this board could do the same kinda thing or join in on this and find some way to motivate themselves as i'm trying.

Thanks in advance!
John
