Well, Cali was exhausting but great. We went down for the GF's family. We stayed in a $4 million house in the Tustin area (Orange Cty) with a great view, and large pool and a jacuzzi. Also a pretty nice home gym. Worked out a bunch of kinks and feeling great.
I did stay on the diet, but I did allow a cheat day yesterday. I ate anything I wanted. Sushi was for lunch. I really missed it so we went to a nice sushi place in Huntington Beach. I tried to eat my weight in crunch crunch and california rolls but after just a little, that rice swelled up in my stomach and I couldn't pound down one more bite.
The more I lose, the more motivated I am to get much leaner. Got lots of work to do. I'm going to shop for a new gym this evening. Does anyone have any input on LA Fitness?

Yep! Trained hard, swam, walked all over Disneyland! Pretty sure I was safe with a bit of sushi!

My wife belongs to an LA Fitness. She goes just for the pool, sauna, and hot tub, but she has commented a few times on how there are a lot of "huge guys" there. So they must have something that serious lifters like.

Although LA fitness was a little closer, I joined a local gym in the area called Eagle Fitness. No pool, jacuzzi or steam room, but lots of iron. Good hammer strength machines as well. Best of all, I got the Father's Day deal. No enrollment fee. I locked in at $19 bucks a month! I start in the morning, and I'm jazzed! The Weider multi station I have here pretty much sucks so I'm ready to be back in a good gym.
I also noticed that they have a ROM machine. ROM - The Four Minute CrossTrainer I'm looking forward to trying it out. Do I really believe it only takes 4 minutes to workout? Nope, but it does look very efficient.

June 19, 2009.
I hit 293 this evening before my workout!!! The size 40 pants are getting more room in them so next weekend I'm going to try on some 38's. Had a good workout at the new gym this evening too. The knees are able to take more weight, and although I'm still not able to do curls because of a wrist sprain, I'm able to do hammer curls. I'm starting to really see my upper body emerge from the blubber. Hey, I'm calling it like it is.
I am getting pretty excited though. When I got started with this downhill run, when I lost 10 pounds...my earlobes were smaller and that was about it.:P I'm now to the point where I'm able to tell more of a visible difference as I go along. The cool thing is that I'm on track to be where I want to be on my 50th b-day in the middle of September of this year.

Awesome news on both the new gym AND especially the loose-fitting pants.

Just a blurb about how much I'm digging my new gym. Everything's smooth, clean, and well organized. Friendly staff too. The mirrors actually make me look better than what I am!
I have lost some strength though. It's going to take a while to get it all back, but I'm determined to get most of it. I'm not training to be huge anymore. I am encouraged regarding my leg workouts though. My knees are feeling better with every workout. I also was worried about calf work after the surgery. That's going very well too.
I'm also getting close to breaking the 290 mark. I'm hoping that I'll get past it by the end of the month. If I can average 2-2.5 pounds of fat loss per week, I'm more than happy with that.
I'm also upping the carbs a bit. It's been months on usually 30 grams or less. I eat plenty of greens along with lots of protein and a little dairy in cheese. I'm adding a few more nuts, and Kellogg's All Bran fiber crackers. I'm going to take in 50-60 grams for a week and then drop back. I'm trying to avoid a plateau. I also figure that with 5 workouts a week that I can deal with a few more carbs.

It's been a few days since my last post. I hit 290 last week. I'm about to go shopping for interim jeans again. I did take 2 days off the diet over the 4th and 5th. I can't seem to do 4th of July without making/eating BBQ ribs and all the fixings (corn on the cob-on the grill, BBQ baked beans.)
Jumped on the scale and no change after the treats. I'm back on the diet as of this morning, and looking forward to doing legs tonight in the gym
