Bouncer's diet Progress
Ahh, the dangers of getting sidetracked. I was doing pretty well, but with stress, injuries, schedule, and lack of focus, I started up the scale again instead of down. Since last August, I had ballooned back up nearly to where I used to be. Damned hypoglycemia. I over-pump insulin at the mere sight of a potato or plate of pasta.
As of yesterday morning, all the weight I gained back is off and I'm back in the smallest clothes I own. How? I eat less than 80 grams of carbs a day, and usually much less. The only carbs I get besides veggies (lots of veggies) is a slice of Ezekiel bread a day, which I just introduced in the diet a couple of weeks ago.
Although I do eat bacon at breakfast once in a while, most of the protein I eat is pretty lean, and I grill most of it. My beautiful partner has jumped on the diet with me, and although she has had a bit more problem giving up the carbs, she's doing great (Mother's Day was yesterday and I did buy a pie and ice cream. Marie Calendar and Cold Stone.) One cheat treat and back on in the morning.
Since there isn't an El Pollo Loco within a few hundred miles from Seatlle, I'm absolutely thrilled that KFC is offering grilled chicken with tasty seasoning and no carbs.
I'm not stopping the diet now that I'm back to where I was. I'm not going to over-state my intentions, but I have a dream....

Well, it's hard to tell because I dieted and used both. I only use the coconut oil before workouts though, for energy. However, my pain is way down, and my energy is way up as it is. ACV, I'm convinced has helped a bit. It's a way to help the fat burning process without "Hydroxycut." I also use cayenne pepper in capsules. It has great cardiovascular benefits.
I have a ways to go, but I'm nicely in the groove. I'm about to change the first digits in both my waist and weight. Currently, I'm in 42's and about ready for 40's and the weight as of this morning was 312 pounds. By the middle of June, I plan on being in 38's and somewhere around 290. The weight workouts that I'm doing are currently designed to maintain muscle, but not gain any at this time. I'm trying to get pressure off my knees and the bad foot.
Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I really appreciate it!

Well either my scale is messed up, or I'm gaining muscle, or both. Perhaps water retention. Pants are looser-right out of the dryer, but it says I'm up 6 pounds one day and down 8 the next. I think I liked things better before I bought the damn thing.
At any rate, I am at somewhat of a plateau. To bust it, I'm upping the cardio a bit, and I'm going to up the water intake and lower sodium. We will see. I want to change front digits ( waist and weight) by the time I go to Huntington Beach Ca next month.
I had an accident moving a grand piano into my shop a couple of days ago. The ramp slipped off the truck and I not only faceplanted on the back of the truck, but I sprained my left wrist, busted a couple of knuckles, and sprained an ankle as well. I'm not lifting until the wrist heals up a bit. Me and my Tunturi recumbant bike are becoming good friends though.
Nothing hurts like pain.-lol

Plateau's are tough. Way to recognize it and try to break through it. Changing up your routine is best.

That sounds painful. Take some time off to rest and get well soon.
If I were you, I'd stay away from pianos from now on. Isn't that how you originally screwed up your back, by lifting a piano?

It was actually. That time I did something stupid. This time, it was defective equipment. It's since been replaced. I'm in the piano biz, so it's hard not to move them once in a while.
As far as the plateau is concerned: It's over. I should be posting about being under 300 in a few days.

Well, I've dropped a bit more. Looks like I'll bust through the 300 mark this week. Things are tightening up. I'll post when I finally bust it. Yesterday was a tough day. My blood sugar was in the basement. I ate roughly 70 grams of carbs (no sweets or processed) and pulled myself out of the fog. This rarely happens when I'm lo-carbing. Hypoglycemia sneaks up on me once in a while. I dropped a pound since yesterday though, so no real worries there.

Well, I'm healing up, and back to the workouts. As usual, I'm stronger after a short layoff. Appetite is down, and it's pretty much biz as usual staying on the diet. I'm still convinced the scale is demon possessed because I've dropped another pant size and the scale has stopped moving once again. I'm working out at home these days (found a great house) so using the gym scale is out. I'm just going to forget about what I weigh for a month and stay in the groove. I'm now less fat than what I was in the pic I currently use for my avatar. Everyone around is commenting on the difference, and how much more of a "V" taper I have.
One thing about dropping the jiggly stuff is that you have a better idea of what your body needs for symmetry. I'm seeing there are some things I want to bring back up. Yes, I'm still flirting with an certain idea.
Aside from the recent injuries, I've really noticed a great reduction in daily pain. Knees are better and so is the foot that was operated on. I was taking 1000 mg of naproxin (Alieve) daily, plus acetaminophen, and ibuprofen. As I type this, It occurs to me that I haven't taken any of it daily for over a month. I hesitate to even think about it, but I like to run.....
So, to sum it up, I'm looking better, feeling better physically, and since the sun has been out (we don't get much of it in the Seattle area) my mood is better. Not that I've been walking around being Mr Cranky Pants, but sunlight is a great thing!!!

Oh, I plan on having a cheat meal or two while I'm there. I'm just going to be smart about it. I'll allow 100 grams of carbs for a day-which is like cheating for me. The last few pounds didn't come off very easy, so I just don't want to go backwards. We are staying with family in Tustin, and they have a pretty good gym at the house so that will help.

As I write this, I'll be getting on a plane this morning for California-for a much needed break. I'm a sore puppy. I finally went to a good chiropractor. I was misaligned all over the place from the work accidents. Sore from the adjustments, but they did me some good.
It was a great feeling yesterday to buy clothes for the trip in a size I haven't seen in 12 years or so. I should have some pics up next week.

Well, Cali was exhausting but great. We went down for the GF's family. We stayed in a $4 million house in the Tustin area (Orange Cty) with a great view, and large pool and a jacuzzi. Also a pretty nice home gym. Worked out a bunch of kinks and feeling great.
I did stay on the diet, but I did allow a cheat day yesterday. I ate anything I wanted. Sushi was for lunch. I really missed it so we went to a nice sushi place in Huntington Beach. I tried to eat my weight in crunch crunch and california rolls but after just a little, that rice swelled up in my stomach and I couldn't pound down one more bite.
The more I lose, the more motivated I am to get much leaner. Got lots of work to do. I'm going to shop for a new gym this evening. Does anyone have any input on LA Fitness?
