I wasn't that much of a breakdancer, but I kept with the culture in the early 90s...I see a few b-boys breaking out their moves at clubs and a few competitions, knowing it won't die out pretty soon.

I use to be really into breakdancing. It is such a great workout and man it gets you pretty good shape. It's been probably 8 years since the last time I attempted to do it. Pretty sure I can still do most of the moves though. Its all technique and balance.

I tried it back in 85 or 86 and couldn't get it. I tried and failed. I can kinda do the man in the box. I learned the moon walk too.

yeah, I was on a crew back in the early days, 84-86, then I became a cyclist.
The breakers today are way better, pulling off insane moves. still fun to watch.

All that powermoves, I can't do, but when it comes to some minor footwork or body movement...then those I could do.
Got to have alot of upper body strength for those insane power moves or at least be able to hold your weight.

Hey nice thread goku, kaoru himself use to breakdance, and pop-lock back in middle school, use to bust out, 90's and windmill+flair+and headspin, since kaoru is 23yrs old now breakdanceing is history, lost all that skill many friend's quit as well. but kaoru still like freestyle. I've seen many talented Japanese guys bust out some of the best combo out there.

I used to do a little when I was younger, but I probably weigh too much right now to do anything decent. My sister is really into it, though. She even saw one of her breakdancing teachers on BET a few months ago when they had a breakdancing contest during one of their shows featuring local kids.
