American Football is easily my favorite although Soccer has its moments and I'll be watching the world cup. I'd love to go to a game in Europe. To all the Soccer fans, what do you guys do when there's not much going on in the game? Get shit faced?

I grew up on American Football, but now I am developing a real love of International Soccer. I can't wait for the World Cup. I will be watching it with my friends who are, Portuguese, Croatian, and Italian. I am German. How is that for a diverse group.
I made a thread for it in the Lounge.

Soccer is a great sport.
But,
American football is far more intense to watch or play, IMHO.

I do not know anyone that watches soccer. It is easily the least interesting thing to watch on TV, in my opinion. Although that is probably not just my opinion and actually a fact that I could prove.
No offense to anyone that likes soccer, of course.

I have a ton of respect for guys who play soccer. It takes tons of endurance and skill. However i think that the sport is boring as hell and can't stand to watch anymore than about 5 minutes before i want to shoot my TV. SO i guess i could have jsut said that i like football better. Football season is my favorite time of year. I bet every week and superbowl sunday is my favortie day of the year.

For me, there's no question. The Yanks have it! I've never played organized soccer before. I'm sure it's fun but can't be anywhere near as satisfying as American Football. There's nothing quite like knocking someone flat on their ass!

I'll watch both regardless. Since here in the states, the MLS season ends in Aug/Sept and the NFL starts around the same time. Plus if Da Bears start sucking it up like the last few years, I can't stand watching them.

Bump
Anyone excited about the new upcoming season?
Who do you think is going to be the biggest surprise this year? Player? Team?
Who do you think is going to win the Superbowl?
I'm stoked for the new season and getting ready for my faantasy draft. We changed it to a keeper league this year.
I think that the biggest surprise as a team will be Detroit, as they are in a week division and have some good talent on the team.
I'd like to say Miami to win the Superbowl, but that just isn't going to happen.

I love football- actually just got into watching it religiously in the last 6 years or so. I think most of the players are boneheads and don't realize what a great job they have- but they work for it!
Denver Broncos all the way!!!!

Good, there's alot of band wagon jumpers down here. saw it with the Heat. Seen it with the Marlins. Saw it with the Panthers. But the next season where are these "die hard" fans?
I'm a Cowboys fan and I've been burnt for the last several years, following the draft and training camp. Then, season starts, and, "Oh no, we suck again." This year I'm trying not to get to end to things til the season starts. Should be able to tell bout the 3rd game weather to get excited or not. T.O., that f'ing guy.
As far as soccer, my hats off to the players for being in great shape, lots of endurance. But so are cross country runners, and I ain't watching that either.

Hey, you'd have to be a long time fan if you're a Canuck and you like the Phins.
No it's just that they talk here about how this is a football town and there have been plenty of seasons that the home opener didn't sell out by the T.V. blackout deadline and they even had a palyoff game a few years ago that didn't sellout.
Bet that doesn't happen in Washington, Philley, Denver, or Cleveland.
