Kenny Rogers "Smudge Gate"
Any thoughts on the World Series Game 2 controversy?
Was that pine tar on his hand? Look like it to me. He says it was dirt, come on you don't notice that on your pitching hand?
Why did he do it? He was still unhittable (probably not a word) for the next 7+innings after he cleaned it off. Maybe he relocated the pine tar to a better hidden area.

No way it was pine tar......have you ever tried to get that stuff off!! It doesn't just come off with a quick "wash yer hands".
Probably just rosin.
Blown totally out of proportion!

Isn't rosin white?
Did you see his hand? It was brown.

As a member from detroit, I must say they are making way to big of a deal out of it, I mean he did better after it was off. I could understand if he was doing good with it on, then bad when off but that wasnt the case. I say who gives a fuck, he whipped them like mashed potatoes before and after. Me personally I just think he didnt properly wash his hands after he came out the bathroom, and it was crap.
Yeah boy Im cheerin for my team, my dad is one of the very few detroiters who cheered and watched the tigers for years even when they lost 130 games or whatever that number was. It kinda makes me mad how all the sudden these hardcore tigers fans come out when they are doing good, but wouldnt watch a game on TV or go to one any year before this one.

On ESPN this morning, they showed photos of Rogers in the ALDS and ALCS - he had similar smudges in all of them. As suspicious as it seems, though, I'd think that if you were using pine tar to alter the ball - the ball would be have some pine tar on it. I'd assume that - when the asked him to wash his hands - they'd probably take a moment to examine the balls.

It's like that everywhere, in all sports.
I was (and still am) a Patriot fan for decades when they couldn't beat the cheerleaders, now everyone is a Pats fan, well around here (N.E.) I mean.
I've been cheering for the Tigers (since the Red Sox are out) cuz they whooped the Yankees!!!

I'm certainly no expert, but I think he wouldn't alter the ball with it, just that it gives him a better grip on the ball, thus tighter rotation hence more movement.

So there are accusations of cheating? Ironically, I really enjoy baseball when I am able to see a game, but I can't get the news very easily where I am. When I am in the U.S. I actually like to watch it.

I don't think there have been any formal accusations, just some controversy. So I figured we could play with it too.
It'll make for an interesting Game 6, if there is one.

For hardcore Tigers fans beating the Yankees is almost as good as the world series lmao. Tiger fans hate the Yankees more than any other team, plus the Yankees are so well known for like always doing good, it felt great to whoop them

hmmmmm... FOCK the Tiggers, FOCK the Birdies... since my team is no longer in it and since they already won in my lifetime, I can cross number 6 off my life's "to do" list, I must comment on this b.s. Rogers is a focker, he only had one good hit with the gambler and he sure isnt nice to the media.... maybe he didnt wash after he wiped... looked like poo to me... so, in summation... FOCK. Thank you.
