Da' Bears are going to get squished. I'm guessing that a 21 point margin of victory is not outside the realm of possibility. They are what they are - the best team in crappy division within an even crappier conference.

Just cause your Eggles suck Gman, doesnt mean you have to apply that same principle to my 9-1 Bears... Im going to just say this... I was SUPPOSED to be at this game, my mom is actually a Pats fan... can't believe I still talk to her... anyway, she is going and the wife and I were supposed to but got suckered into going to the inlaws instead... which aint all that bad. I will be seen on TV for Chiefs vs. Broncos tonight. Just look for the guy in a black leather jacket standing next to a broncos fanatic. You can't miss me. As for the 'wager' cracken... lets see...
I will babysit this board for you from now till new years if the Pat's win... that includes the crap from greggy too... Deal?

If I'm wrong, then so be it. It's just that I see the NFC as being piss poor. The AFC is so far the better league right now it isn't funny. These things are cyclical. I remember the 1970's, and how dominant the AFC teams were. Then came the 1980's when the pendulum swung the other way, and the NFC dominated.
Speaking of piss poor........you can laugh all you want Sunday night when Manning and the Colts spank my Eagles like schoolgirls.

I have to agree regarding the NFC being "piss poor" proof of this is look at my seahawks, nothing against the niners but the hawks would have played better if they put the cheerleaders in uniform/pads.
What I am basing my guess on is the way the two teams have played, yes it will be a damn good game and worth watching but I think the bears will have the edge especially with their D
Unfortunately your eagles lost one of the best QBs in the league without him I will agree their performance will go down hill and like my hawks they rely too much on a few players and forget there is a team concept there (prime example Alexander and Hasselback)

Da Bears do have a good team this year & have a good shot of winning the NFC. The Patriots when hitting on all 8 cylinders are a superior team. There in lies the problem, will the Pats show up?? 7-3 this year with all 3 loses at home. Complete turn around for the Pats.
Ought to be a good, hard fought, low scoring game.
Pats 14 Bears 13.
GO PATS !!!

the difference between the pats and the bears this year --- when rex grossman has a crap game, the defense can still win it, when tom brady doesnt do anything, the pats have a hard time winning
the bears are on the verge the realm of amazing defenses all time, with the 86 bears, the 00 ravens and the steel curtin from the late 70's... they just need to do it come playoff time...
with that being said, tom brady has NO recievers, 2 fairly good backs, and a D that keeps him in games... when rex actually plays, that O is damn good, but rex has to play...
17-10 bears --- bears D/special teams scores atleast 1 td
and the eagles were a crappy 4th quarter, a crappy penalty, and a 62 yard fg by a guy who didnt make any fg from longer the 25 yards out, away from being 7-0... the only teams that really beat them were the jags and the titans... but its all moot now, without #5, hopefully they lose the rest of the way and get good draft picks...

Of all time?
Not quite yet. Their division stinks. They are the only one with a winning record. The rest of their division is a scintillating 10 and 21.
The combined record of their opponents is an equally pathetic 43 and 59. They beat Seattle without its two best players. They struggled against the terrible Cardinals, and barely beat them. They beat the Giants, a team whose players are dropping like flies due to injuries, and because their head coach is a moron.
Don't get me wrong. I love defense. However, this years Bears team isn't worthy of being mentioned in the class of the 86 Bears just yet, and that defense wasn't even as good as the 1976 Steeler defense. That defense was the greatest of all time.
They had five shutouts over their last nine games.
Steelers 234 Opponents 28 <---only 28 points allowed
10/17/76 bengals 6 steelers 23
10/24/76 steelers 27 giants 0
10/31/76 chargers 0 steelers 23
11/7/76 steelers 45 chiefs 0
11/14/76 dolphins 3 steelers 14
11/21/76 oilers 16 steelers 32
11/28/76 steelers 7 bengals 3
12/5/76 buccaneers 0 steelers 42
12/11/76 steelers 21 oilers 0
Now THAT was dominance. If Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier had not missed the 1976 AFC championship game against Oakland due to injuries, they would have won five Superbowls in the '70's. That was the greatest defense. Ever.
Call me when this years Bears team beats somebody other than the little sisters of the poor, and I will believe it.

Agreed - This years bears do have alot to overcome. They do have one of the best defenses but the NFC as a whole has not proven anything this year. Personally I have seen better High School games this year compared to the pro or even some of the college games. At this point I would have to say that the pros are overpaid and under proven. Yes I love the game and I love to watch but at the same time I would like for them to give me something to watch....other than T.O. dropping passes

hey G-Kittah... will ya let the newb talk, he does have some valid points there... like the Bears stomping a mudhole in Tom Brady's ass on sunday, or the fact that the 85 bears and the 2000 ravens are almost the same team re-incarnate... this year's bears have the potential to be big time, but have to win in January to be Great. As for your eagles, McNabb, healthy, is the MVP, without him your team is dust. R.I.P. Eggles.

toche, but i did say they were on the verge... what seperates them from all the other teams i mentioned... rings... if they can go on and win some, then they will be looked at as a great team, but until then, they are just a formitable defense and a qb who sometimes looks like joe montana and other times looks like drew henson...

Just a couple things from me. The pats are going to wreck shop on the bears because like everything else Gman is right. But does it really matter who wins? Niether team is going to do anything except lose in the playoffs. And last the Raiders are going to come back and make the playoffs and then win the superbowl. So just pack up and go home mav. my Raiders already have it in the bag.

Defense????
Bears, 120 PA, 1st in NFL. Average 12 PAPG
Patriots, 131 PA, 2nd NFL. Average 13 PAPG.
The only other team even close to them is Jacksonville, 137 PA.
2 question mark quarterbacks..........gonna be close & low scoring.
Pats 14

I dont know if I would describe Brady as a question mark QB. I dont know if you have been watching any football the last 6 years but he is pretty good. Grossman well thats another story he isnt that good at all IMHO. God bless the pats in the quest for the holy grail.
