Boomerangs
Anyone out there like to throw boomerangs? I own two, a Yanaki and a Kilimanjaro, from Colorado Boomerangs. The Kilimanjaro has about a 60 meter range and, when thrown correctly, looks like it stalls momentarily at it's farthest point away from the thrower. Its pretty cool.

It took me a while before I got it right and every throw I make still isn't perfect. You need a little wind so they will make the complete trip and the harder the wind is blowing the further off the wind you have to start the throw. Also, the tilt of the boomerang off vertical affects the flight pattern. Takes a little practice and a lot of patience but the first time you throw it and it comes back to you, without having to move, you'll be hooked.

Go the Colorado boomerang website. They have a variety of boomerangs along with prices. They also come with an instruction booklet on how to throw it. I would suggest a Yanaki as a starter. Its pretty easy to throw and I think it has a range of about 35 meters so you don't need a very big area to throw it in. They do come in left and right hand models so make sure you specify this if you order one.

That does sound like fun. I found a boomerang in a field once about 10 years ago (I still have it). There is a name burned into the back of it along with "Australia". I think it must be a boomerang some tourist picked up on their vacation, and when they came home and tried it, it got lost. I have tried it several times and the thing flies really far. It goes out and back but I keep having the problem of it going in circles like a circling condor or something. Anyway. Fun.
