Default The Superbowl

Everyone, and I do mean everyone, has predicted a Colts victory. They also predict it to be lopsided. Maybe it is just me, but when everyone thinks something is going to happen I find that it generally does not.

Grossman. Grossman. Grossman. I keep hearing how terrible he is. Nobody expects him to do anything, but turn the ball over. He's not even in the same league as Manning. So, why does a part of me feel funny about this?

If everyone is predicting a super blow out then I am inclined to lean in the other direction. The line for this game is seven, and I hear everyone saying that you should lay the seven and bet the Colts.

Okay, I will go out on a limb here, and predict that not only will the Bears keep it within seven I think that they have a serious chance to win the game outright. I must be nuts, but I just can't go with the flow. If everyone sees something as one way then what is least expected can, and often does happen.

The last time the Colts were heavily favored in a Super Bowl, and everyone figured they'd mop the floor with their opponent somebody had something to say.

Take a gander at tomorrow's weather forecast.

Quote:
Tomorrow night: Showers in the evening, then cloudy overnight. Low 61F. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
That favors the Bears. Don't be surprised if the Bears win this one. Take your shekels and bet the Bears plus the seven.

G... my people will be sending you a fruitbasket for that one. I am adopting a wait and see attitude, Im going to wait, patiently, and maybe my boys will prove everyone wrong. As for Grossman being so bad... well, he is... but remember, Trent Dilfer won a superbowl. Sun shines on a sleeping dog's ass every once and awhile ya know. Im not gonna do what the boi did last year with the steelers and crown their ass, just waiting.

I've spent the better part of the season saying that the Bears' record is far superior to their team ability, that many of their wins have had a miracle element, and that their losses have been more than deserved.

That said, my $ is saying that the Bears win. Solidly. For all the doubts I have about them as a team, and the NFC as a conference, I just don't see why I should be impressed by the Colts.

PS> Grossman v. Manning. Read their stats - not nearly as different as you'd think.

Boy, did I get that one wrong. I hope nobody lost any money because of me.

Gman has gone into hiding.

For a while I actually thought the Bears were going to do it. But then Grossman had to do his best to prove all the nay sayers right. He was God awful. What a shame.
