What REALLY annoys me is that the media have all bar ignored the Paralympics. I just finished watching the rugby on the telly and watched the sports news after it, the Paralympics got less coverage than the horse racing.
I looked at the headline pages of the main British newspapers for Paralympic coverage:
The Times - 3rd out of 3 sport headlines on their front page, the best coverage of any major newspaper. On their sport page, the Paralympics has trivial coverage in the "More Sports" section usually reserved as the bargain basement sports news. Even the Irish Hurling gets better coverage!
The Independent - nowhere on the 5 sport headlines on their front page. On their sport page, the Paralympics has trivial coverage below golf and horse racing.
The Guardian - no news story on the front page but a link to the Paralympic section hidden away beneath fashion tripe. On their sport page, the Paralympics has trivial coverage below the horse racing.
The Telegraph - nowhere on the 5 sport headlines on their front page. On their sport page, the Paralympics has trivial coverage below other trivial headlines
Even the BBC who are the sole broadcasters have one scant link on their home page although it gets some coverage on their sport home page.
