Default elbows

I have a question for anybody who might know this. It has something to do with my elbows. Everytime i exercise my tricepts my elbows hurt like crazy. They never used to hurt before but started within the last 2 months or so. The pain seem to be on the inner side of my elbow. So should i go see a doctor or just rest.

You may have a bit of tendonitis.
Things like this take time to heal.
Try lightening up.
elbow joints when they hurt like this usually need some warming up.
Light pully extensions are good for warmups.
and maybe stay away from headcavers for a few weeks,
i find when my elbows hurt like that headcavers/skullcrushers especially at
heavy weights make the problem worse

You might also try a "tennis elbow" brace. You can get one at most drug stores/walMart.

Yeah sounds like tendonitis. I've struggled with it for a while as well. Ice after a workout helps (5 minutes on, 5 minutes off). Cycle your intensity (you can't go hard & heavy on triceps all the time). I have found that not working triceps after chest (do a seperate arm day or work them after back), thoroughly warming up (high rep, low weight sets) and sticking to less stressful exercises (close grip bench is about the easiest on the elbows for triceps) all help as well.

How old are you, bluedragon? I've noticed a very similar problem just within the past year or so. I'm 43.

i dont knw, it does sound like tendonitis, but u really shuddnt keep doing the exercises that aggrivate it. U should ice it every 3-4 hours every day for about a week with no elbow activity and u shud see improvement. if not then contact a physician and get it squared away.

(this was wat i was prescribed)

I am going through the same thing right now. It has been about a month and it is getting better little by little but I have not been able to train heavy @ all. My doctor is sending me to a specialist and he mentioned cortizone shots. Anyone have any exp. w/ these? I have only heard bad things.

wouldnt recommend those. they'll help and relieve pain for like a week after the 1st shot, but when u depend on them they become less effective. dont do it cuz its not worth more pain. u hav more choices then this 4 a last resort.

(at least 3 specialists informed me on this)

I'm now in the same boat with having elbow pain in my right arm. Nothing is swollen or sore around the elbow. But it is a inner type pain at the tip of my elbow that just is annoying and of course a bit painful when using the elbow!

I got mine about 2 weeks ago and I think it is do to over working the tricep in my workouts, as I was in a small gym at a friends apartment complex and didn't have much stuff to choice from so the tri's paid the price!

I'm iceing it as I type and am going to just take it easy on the elbow on all my workouts and activities for a 2 weeks and ice as much as I can. I'll update on how this works out!

the cortizone shots are your best long term remedy. i had mine done and a weeks rest was all that was required and to this day not one flair up. i should of had both done because the one i didnt have done can flare up slightly time to time under heavy stress. the one injected not a damn thing wrong anymore. even when using 100lb dumbell extensions! dont let a little ol needle scare ya!
