rerouted nerves
i had a pretty severe motorcycle accident which i talk about in the steroids forum.. cant post a link to it yet..
i had 5 nerves rerouted from other muscles to my bicep and deltoids. the way i understand it was that the nerves that were there die after about 3 months of being unconnected to the spinal cord. well the doc moved other nerves from less needed places and they regrew down the original neural pathways that had died. my muscles are very weak now. i would imagine that this is partly due to neurological inefficiency.
i would like to know if theres any way to improve this situation if youve ever heard of or experienced it and...
the muscles being really weak, is a 5 day a week workout schedule going to be too much excersise? i doubt it but it never hurts to ask some opinions.
thanks guys.

your doctor or physical therapist can give you a list of exercises designed to restore range of motion, and basic strengthening. i wouldnt try anything else other then those given tell you have gotten the go ahead from the docs. you get to ancy and start traing on your own to early your more then likely going to do some damage you will regret in the long run. just be patient. dont rush things on your recovery.

Have you seen a chiropractor yet? They deal directly with your nervous system and spinal cord. You probably have some subluxations from the wreck, which will greatly affect your health. Put a seeing a chiropractor on your immediate list of things to do.

chiropractors are good, i use them myself for certain injuries. but one can not help you with the problems from the nerve transplant yet. further in to your recovery yes.....but right now you need to concentrate ROM and basic strengthening before getting freshly cut open injuries manipulated by a chiropractor. speaking from experience a chiropractor will not treat your injuries at this stage of the injury.

No doctor in the world can treat nerves that have been slashed. If that were the case then no one would be paralyzed. A good DC will know what to do for you.

just going off the info he gave.....he's the person who said he has had a nerve replacement done not me. either way, if he did or didn't he stated he had surgery and a chiropractor will not take his case without first having the patient have all medical records pertaining to that particular injury transfered to him and doing some workup on his own wich is added exspense on top of initial charges.
and they are actually doing nerve transplants on various parts of the body allready nowadays. as far as the spinal column nerve transplant goes it still 2 complicated of a procedure. it is commonly done now on various partas of the body like for instance arms and legs. usually extremities something more easy for the surgeon that isnt as life threatening of a procedure to do as attempting a spinal nerve transplant. just do a search on nerve transplant if you dont believe it can be done falconfootball then just go to cnn.com and see the section reported on an 8 month old baby who had his mother donate a section of her nerve tissue from her leg so her child can have a usable arm. the childs arm nerves were dead. there is plenty of other nerve transplants i found on doing just a basic search by typing in "nerve transplant" and a click of the mouse.
