Hola i'm 6weeks into recovery from a cycle crash,broken neck of femur,i've 6 screws and a rod,the specialist down here in sunny spain tells me the op' was very similar to belokis when he came down at the tdf,my question is did he have the rod removed before he got back to racing ??

I don't know if HE did... But I raced motocross for a year or so with a rod in my tib and it was fine. Didn't feel great at first but wasn't a major issue. I had it removed approx 18months after the break and it feels MUCH better.

Broke femur is a HARD one to recover from. There is a lengthy thread here about it.

Thanks bigurp,my problem is they say they would't want to remove it because of my age i'm a vet cyclist 60y'rs,i'll break into the thread and see if anyone has any input .
