I'm worried how this is going to effect me in the long term because I'm really into bodybuilding. I'm a natural bodybuilder and it's very difficult for me to put on muscle mass without using hardcore supplements, with the exception of protein mixes. I planned on doing a competition in October and I'm having doubts about the whole thing. I've heard removing your gallbladder completely changes your eating habits. Does anybody have a similar experience or any insight on this subject. Thanks.

ive never had my gallbladder removed but can say my brother did. ive talked with him and he tells me it hasnt affected any of his eating habits. true hes not as serious about bodybuilding as i am but he does lift at home when he feels like it. from what research ive done on the gallbladder its function is to release bile to aid in digestion of fatty substances so in effect one can control there diet and function quite well without the gallbladder. can even supp with digestive enzymes obtained from just about any major store even gnc stocks them. but he told me his stomachs acid it produces on its own has been adequate in digesting his food. just the occasional heartburn from time to time if wrong type of food is eaten. hope this helps.

oh on a second note make sure you rehab correctly b-4 lifting again, my brother also had to have a hernia repaired. the surgery sight of the gallbladder by inadequate healing time b-4 assuming normal routine. that couldve just been a freak thing happen to i guess.
