Ankle question
....OK, surely someone here has encountered a similar "injury". First of all, I've always had very strong ankles. I've done stuff to them over the years so many times that left me shaking my head that I didn't just destroy them...I have just rolled them completely over more times than I can count and walked away without so much as a limp,...anyway...here's my problem:
Just the last 3 days or so I've noticed a sharp and intense pain in my left ankle when I walk without shoes on. I can seriously barely walk. Put shoes and - poof - it's 95 percent gone. What's up with this?
A possible mitigating factor is I have been jumproping, in conjunction with heavybag work, more lately.
Any ideas would be appreciated....

Without watching you walk, I could only guess that your shoed foot is more supported than your bare foot... maybe your arch is flattening out. If your foot collapses in/out, this motion now is sets your whole body for misalignment. It is also possible that you might have some chipped bones that only rear there ugly faces when you're barefoot (as you flatten your arches)
Is the pain only in the ankle? get on a treadmill w/barefeet and have somebody watch your feet... see if they roll inward and collapse your arches.
Otherwise, get'em X-rayed because you don't want to spend the rest of your life in a chair!

really should get it checked out there are so many tendons and ligaments there that it can be plenty of issues possible to start guessing.
