Default Torn long Head of Biceps Tendon

I was just diagnosed with a torn long head of biceps tendon. I felt a pop while doing plyometric push ups. I have a little ball on the top of my bicep head. There is prqactically no pain. I am trying to get in to see an orthopedic surgeon.
I have been reading that quite often this is treated without surgery with minimal strength loss.
Has anyone had experience with this in the past. I work out 5-6 days a week-mountain biking, running, P90X, snowboarding and am wondering about my choices.
Thanks for your thoughts.

I haven't had that one, so no personal experiences. What did the MD say when diagnosing?

Good luck, hope recovery's short!

Just a question, what is the process like in getting the original diagnosis and then seeing a specialist in Canada? (this isn't a political thing coming from an American embroiled in health care, I'm just curious what your process is like)

I would give a quick google on this and read up all you can. YOu do want to heal fast and so you want to be diligent with the rest, recovery, rehab etc and in the proper order, don't rush.
