Jay's girlfriend post

I noticed that the thread was removed and I understand why it was. The 'danger' here is that people appear to be posting pictures of friends that may or may not have been done with their knowledge or permission. I have some concerns that someone who is not a model, or otherwise doesn't have any expectation that their image may be posted on a website, would be upset to find their images on here. (Especially when those photos are of an 'ex' who might be less inclined to want their photos posted by their former boyfriend).

I am open to a discussion about this; I just don't want anyone getting in trouble for posting pictures.

I think the "better safe than sorry" rule applies here...

I am not one who typically takes the conservative path, but in this case I think it is prudent and permission should be sought….

I made my point about this not so long ago when someone posted there ex if i remember rightly, i thought it was bloody odd to start with anyways. I have to absolutely agree though, how can anyone post a pic of someone they know without there knowledge, its just plain wrong.

Definitely agree with all the above statements. Best to err on the side of caution than face a major lawsuit down the line.

Just apply the Golden rule here.... Would you want an ex girlfriend or wife to post pics of you without your knowledge? I think this site for the most part is loaded with conscientious, considerate people (if not Gman sweeps up the rest ).

I would consider it more an act of common decency than an act of self preservation. Even if there weren't to be any legal proceedings, posting a picture of someone without their sanction would be a horrendously selfish thing to do.

Ok but if the guy wants to post a picture of his ex or his little sister or the girlfriend of the friend of a friend of someone he met once, he might as well say it's his girlfriend since he knows otherwise it's gonna be removed.

And I've seen plenty of members post pics of their girlfriends, but not only don't we even know if it's really their girlfriend, but even if it is, what tells you she knows about it and agrees with it... ?

So if you're going to remove these threads, you should remove aswell the pictures of girlfriend threads, and let only the pictures of the actual members of the forum, which is what the "pictures of members" forum was intend for initially, I suppose.

This is only my opinion of course
