My foot is Purple and HYOOOOGE
Yes, my foot really is purple and HUGE. I was playing around on an assault course and I fell awkwardly on my left foot, badly twisting my ankle. It looks cool, but it hurts like a bee-atch. I guess I'll be laying off the squats and deadlifts for a while...

Hey guys! I should have said this when I posted the pics -- it ain't broken, because I had it X-rayed when I was at the hospital. It is very discoloured, but all I've done is wrenched it good and damaged the soft tissue. The ligaments probably aren't in particularly good shape, but they'll heal over time. It hasn't even been two days since the accident, so I'm sure the colour will change somewhat over time.

An assault course (also called trim trail) is a special sort of trail that combines running and exercising. It was more popular in the 1970s than it is now. It is heavily used in the military training. (from Google)
I was playing on one of the stations of this assault course at which there were two hanging ropes a little more than shoulder-width apart, and I was doing gymnastics and silly stuff like that. I climbed up one of the ropes a bit, and I let go too soon, not realising my left foot was doomed...

A break will heal far better and more quickly than a major soft tissue injury to your ankle. See a Podiatrist, who is a specialist in foot and ankle problems. Your health insurance plan may require that you see your regular doctor first in order to get a referral to the Podiatrist. It is likely that they will request an MRI or CAT Scan, which are diagnostic procedures to analyze soft tissue injuries. Do not wait. Do this as soon as you can.

Yes, if you dont keep that thing stabilized (air stirrup splint) for a few weeks until it heals, you may end up with an unstable ankle that gives way all the time due to stretched out ligaments...yours looks like a grade 3 sprain..not to be scoffed at!

Keep it elevated and iced for a few days.......try and keep that swelling from pooling in the bottom of your foot! (hard to do but try as hard as you can)
Good luck

Looks like your normal ankle with a little purple crayon to make it look effected. Mave, you fat bastard, get back on that horse and finish that assault course - known more widely as navigating your pigsty of a bedroom!
Your bedroom aside, do you know where I can find out where my nearest local assault course might be? I've seen them on the telly of course, but never had the luck to try one out. And the last part sliding down rope always looked like fun.

LOL ok boss. I can't fit my trainer on any more; I've had to start using an older pair of trainers because they actually fit my foot. It's not purple any more, unfortunately.

Damn, I really feel the love in here. To quote the Fem Dr that examined me after a bad hamstring pull, "thats one beautiful bruise."
