Talking Progress in progress...

Okay so where do I begin?... I've been going to the gym for a while now, about two years. Well I’ve learned to make it a permanent part of my schedule and a high priority. I had gone through phases where I would eat healthy and then slowly fall back into cravings… each time it made It easier to start the healthy eating the next time and slowly but surely I learned more about what I should eat and what I shouldn’t eat and most importantly, why. I feel the few first times it was more of me wanting to eat healthier but not really having a plan and not really knowing much about what I was trying to do. Now I am at the point where it’s great. The only thing I really crave anymore is pizza. Well I have not had any. I think about the pros and cons of a healthy diet… Ultimately I love how I feel about myself when I follow through. I love how my body looks and keeps changing and how I feel more energized and healthier. I have come to the conclusion that it’s ok and I’m learning to live without those devil foods. I don’t want to even let myself think about having one because I feel it will make me weaker, I’ve been doing great. Weight is not a concern of mine however, I only weigh 96 lbs. (I started at 103) and I am 4’ 11” tall. My goal is to cut body fat and since I began my vigorous workout schedule I have cut 4% body fat (which is absolutely great!!). I am trying to build muscle too so I plan on gaining muscle and refuse to stay at my measly 96 lbs. but am focusing right now on lowering my body fat percentage. I have seriously devoted my time to working out, starting the week of September 17th. I have been eating well, and with some tips from some of the fellow members, I have been able to tweak my plan and diet a little better. I get up around 8 in the morning and get to work at 8:30, I either eat cornflakes, strawberry jelly, and milk (all of it is nonfat and no sugar added) then around 11 or so I have some oatmeal with protein powder mixed in it or a box of raisins, around 12:30 I eat a turkey sandwich, tuna, or chicken. At about 3pm I drink half of an Isopure protein drink (no fat, no carbs.. I love it!!)… At about 4:45 I have some fruit or some kind of veggie. I then go workout at about 5:30 and then have the other half of my protein drink right after my workout. I split it up because it has 40grams of protein and taking into consideration how much protein I have already eaten during the day it works better for my schedule. My goal is to have 100 grams protein each day so by splitting it I am able to keep some in my belly. When I get home at night I then have either chicken, flounder, salmon, or more turkey sandwiches. So anyway- I have been going to the gym 6 days a week and have been doing 30 minutes of cardio (sometimes more if I’m not already passing out) and rotating weightlifting depending on the muscle group. I have already seen some changes and am very excited about them. I can already tell my abs are getting more defined and I see more definition in my arms and legs also. I am very happy so far with my results and do not regret one bit the changes I have made to my diet and workouts. I can’t wait to start packing on some more muscle on my legs though : ) Thank you all that gave me the helpful tips!! I will keep you updated as the changes keep coming through.. Woohooo! HI GUN SHOW,
That was a nice read. It goo dto hear someone else has a problem with food.haha.
i found that by only having bad food within 2 hours of a work out the effects were restriced and I put on an extra 10ibs muscle in the following year. As well as my usual diet and whey protein powder. Anyway keep up the hard work

Yes, I find it's only difficult on sundays (when I don't usually go to the gym and in the "I'm going to kill this fat" mood). I have to keep myself busy or I'll start remembering my old friends : ) It's going really well : )

Nah- not negative, I'll get there one day- just saying it will take some time : ) Thanks so much too : ) I'll need to get better pictures of my arms.. I was trying to avoid taking pictures of myself with funny facial expressions while I tried to flex! lol ... so I left my face out and inturn part of my arm... hahaha

GSB, I must say that your pictures look wonderful! Are you trying to get in shape for a show or just for yourself? You look like you could compete! Anyway, keep up the good work. lol thanks that's sweet! nope, not competeting- I just want to live healthier and I enjoy working out : )

I'll tell you that it will be hard to get back into the "spirit" of working out- after the thanksgiving holiday! I'm hitting the gym hard now that I'm back from vacation though!

Okay guys- Here I go again! I feel like I fell off the bandwagon so I'm starting over... scratch it out and starting out blank… absolutely de Nuevo!

I’m setting up two new workout routines, new diet plan, and trying to keep myself organized this time so I don't feel like I don’t know what to do. I've been working out regularly but I know I haven't been pushing myself and I completely got bored of my diet! No excuses though- I just got comfortable with my same ole - same ole routine and need to switch it up a bit!

Basically I am now back at my pre-surgery weight so I feel that it is the right time to pinch myself in the butt and get back into reality and closer to my goal. I will post pictures tonight of me to help me keep track. .. wish me luck!
