A pic
Taken Dec. 23 after completing 12 week "Get Ripped" program that I read about in Muscle & Fitness. Went from 17.7% body fat down to 14%. I turn 50 in February, so my goal is to have one of the best 50-year-old physiques in town. But I live in a small town, so that shouldn't be too hard :-)

my program
I used a five day split.
Monday - Shoulders, Traps, Abs
Tuesday - Biceps & Triceps
Wednesday - Quad, Hamstrings & Calves
Thursday - Rest
Friday - Chest & Abs
Saturday - Back
Sunday - Rest
Odd numbered weeks I lifted low to moderate reps, heavier weight; even numbered weeks I lifted higher reps, lighter weights.
For diet, here was a typical day:
A pre-workout protein shake (25g), then a post-workout shake (50g). Breakfast: 7 egg whites.
Morning snack: Banana.
Lunch: Turkey sandwich on whole grain bread.
Afternoon snack: protein bar.
Dinner: Broiled Salmon, baked potato and vegetables.

Does the program not allow you to wear underwear or shorts?

Very impressive. I'd definitely like to hear more about this program. Are you taking any supplements in addition to the shakes? Your testosterone level must be pretty healthy to be able to make such rapid changes in body composition.
Anyhow, thanks for sharing. Your physique is better than most people half your age. You shouldn't have any problem being at the top of the ladder in most towns!

It was the October 2007 issue of Muscle & Fitness.
I do have other pics, but I failed to take any "before" pictures. When I started working out three years ago I was 5'9", 210 lbs, with high cholesterol, high blood pressure and a border-line diabetic. I started running and lifting, not even thinking about how I looked, or rather, not wanting to think about how I looked. I was disgusted that I had let myself get so out of shape because in my late 20's and early 30's I was working out and stayed pretty fit. Life just got crazy and I let it slide, putting on 40 lbs. I suppose I was lucky it wasn't worse. Anyway, the before pics never really occurred to me. I regret that now. It would have been cool to compare.
I know I still have some work to do, particularly in the midsection (those pesky abs!). But I'm pleased with my progress so far, and that in and of itself has motivated me to keep working hard.
I'll post some other pics later when I have time.

Seriously, is anyone else getting weird, uncomfortable vibes from these pics? I am glad you got yourself into good shape, but why not stick to the shorts (like in your last pic?) Why are you pulling your pants off in that first one?

Thanks for wearing shorts this time, and croping your picture of the g-string. LOL. Keep up the good work.
