How will spend your dash?
Hello everyone,
This link was sent to my wife yesterday and I think it is very appropriate in the times we live in. We never know if today will be our last. I posted this here rather than the lounge because I feel it has everything to do with relationships.

Simply awesome... sad to say I almost overlooked this thread, and that would have been my loss...
I have been running around all day, like a chicken with its head cut off... Just as I am getting ready to go to bed, I see this... I will sleep peacefully now I am sure... Thanks TXT.

Wow that is very deep.
It is amazing how something we see as so little means so much, I mean you look, and see a "-" you don't see what it really means....Thanks TXT for making me realize the real meaning...Reps to you

Appreciate the kind words from all of you. This holds a special meaning to me as my mother passed away 3 weeks ago after a long bout with cancer. My wife and I had the honor of taking care of her. My mother called me the middle of August very upset because she realized that she could no longer live on her own and she thought she was going to have to spend the rest of her time in a nursing home. After the call, I spoke with my wife, we prayed about and the decision was pretty easy to make. We knew it would be hard on us but that didn't matter. I called her back that evening and told her we wanted her to come live with us. She was overwhelmed. We built a ramp and deck so we could get a wheelchair in and out of the house from the yard, brought her recliner, lamp and bookcase from her house over and set her up in one the bedrooms and brought her in on September 8th. We had Hospice on board with us they were wonderful. My mother was happy, comfortable and content. 6 weeks later to the day she went home to be the Lord. It's been ruff, but if we had to do all over again, we wouldn't change a thing. I figure my mother took care of me for 20+ years, this is the very least I could do for her. She went peacefully and painlessly in her sleep.

I'm giving this a bump. I hope everyone who is a member of this site will look at this link and direct others to it. I'm not looking for reps on this, (thank you to those who have), I just think it has a very important message that everyone may benefit from.

I'll do more than that. I made it a stickie. There is plenty of fun-spirited irreverence on this site. Too often those posts that attempt to covey something deeper get lost in all the jocularity. There should also be room for those posts that show us the things in life that truly matter as well. I thought about the "dash" on the long ride home today from work. Thanks again.

Wow. This really choked me up. l wish l had this when my Mom died 5 years ago. Now my mother in law has just been hospitalized with a mild stroke and it brings all the fear of losing someone close to you home. (Yes, l actually like my mother in law. ) Thanks for posting it and thanks for making it a sticky.
