right now my diest is all buggered to hell, for a number of reason work and trainign schedule etc. i have noticed that this seems to be having an effect on 1. the speed of sprem production 2. the strength of my erection
my diet right now mainly consists of coffee, water and sandwiches mainly with ham (i know this is really bad and i am fixing it)
what foods if any are good to help out in this area, my first guess is high protien but i would ike to hear form others

Hmmm...I went through a similar experience a few years back when I was on the night shift. My sleep patterns were messed up, not enough sleep and I was slowly gaining weight. One thing that made a lot of difference was getting the right amount of sleep. At least about 5 or 6hours. The next thing that really eliminated the problem was more cardiovascular work. Nothing gets your blood pumping to your ____ like cardio. Too much coffee can also have an effect on your performance. Get rid of the ham and replace it with tuna or chicken or something. I would also go high fiber. High fiber diets with lots of black beans, split peas, refried beans, pintos, nuts, spinach, in the correct combination will clear out your system and remove many of the toxins that are slowly building up. Solubable fiber (beans, psyllium) acts sort of like a sponge to absorb bile, toxins and cholestoral and push them out of your system. I would bet that your cholestoral is too high. That will have a negative effect on performance. More cardio and high fiber and I am certain you will see a change.

I second the cardio suggestion, I had a similiar experience, a changing schedule throw off my training and eating. I found that increasing the amount of cardio and losing the extra weight helped more then extra weight training. Also take a zinc supplement as it helps stimulate sperm production and increase serum testosterone concentrations.

I may be having the same problem too, after I step into the working life that is. I am considering going into manufacturing, where there are supposed to be night shift. I am guessing that will throw my hormonal production and health into disarray. Is that anything I can do to keep my body functioing optimally and any products (minerals, mild herbs etc) that can aid sleep?

I've heard that melatonin helps. For me, the most important part of sleeping during the day is keeping it pitch black in the bed room. I tinted the windows and put up a black cover over the window. It looked like junk, but my body would be tricked into thinking it was still night time and I would sleep in until 1300 sometimes. It's a weird feeling to wake up out of a deep sleep and realize its afternoon.

I know what you're going through. When I'm on a ship for months at a time I'm subject to what ever the Stewards Department puts out in the Galley, which is usually a meat and three diet. When I come home on my time off I have to purge all the evils out of my system. Start with adding more shellfish to your diet. I suggest Japanese quisine, sushi, sea weed, and miso. It does wonders for me. Red meat at least once a week to give you a protien boost and a little dairy every day for the lactic acid. Drink teas and a glass of wine or a beer for the carbs.
FOR THE CARNIVORES
New York Strip and baked Yukon Gold Potato, w/ stir fried sweet onion, mushrooms, yellow squash, & bell pepper
FOR THE VEGETARIANS
Stir fried shrimp & broccoli, grilled Portabello cap w/ provalone cheese, roasted Italian tomatoes & couscous
SORRY, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE VEGANS... LOL
