Default running playlists! share 'em

okay this is kind of juvenile and some serious technique people might not like how beat interferes with technique and rythym but i unabashedly proclaim my love of running to music. here are my favorite tunes for the long haul, the warmup, the stretch, the whole nine yards:

velvet underground-sunday morning (best thing for a warmup)
the john spencer blues explosion-bellbottoms (it'll fire you up)
the yeah yeah yeahs-man (wish she sang about me)
jackson five-give me one more chance (picked me up at mile 19)
misfits-where eagles dare (get psycho speed)
velvet underground-heroin (soungs like running)
bach-cello suite 1 prelude (great during stretching)
rolling stones-you can't always get what you want (stops pain self pity)

whoa now that i look at it this is not a normal running playlist...
ps can't run to hip hop, the beats are just wrong for me

GNR - Paradise City
AC/DC - Back in Black
Prince - Little Red Corvette
Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA
Tom Petty - American Girl
Metallica - Master of Puppets ( I find the slow guitar solo by this time will give me some cool down time... usually works)
Skid Row - 18 and Life
Bon Jovi - You give Love a Bad Name

For some apparent reason I have been running to 80's rock lately... and it is getting me 2.5 miles more per run... gotta love the 5-8 min songs!

I like MavGrad's playlist. I'm old-school like that too. But, I don't listen to music while I run for the simple reason that I'm affraid of getting run over or mugged or eaten by a dog. I can't tell you how many times I've almost hit a runner on the road in my car because either he, or I, was not paying full attention.

Now, on the treadmill I'm a big fan of listening to music. I have an iPod with approx. 100 songs (isn't that sad?)

James Brown
Muddy Waters
Blind Lemon Jefferson
Leadbelly
Credence
Elvis
Led Zeppelin

I don't usually listen music when i'm running (but the rest of the day i'm always listening music). I prefer to be concentarted in the race, the lap time, the beats, ..... and if you are running in group you'll talk to other runners.

Furthermore, i like electronic music (techno, trance, house,.....) and it could make me run too fast.

totally ......nothin beats rage against the machine for running.
my ideal playlist would be
-Reptillia U]the single greatest tune for anyworkout ...by the strokes[/u]
-say it aint so (weezer)
-wake up (r.a.t.m)
-bring it on down (oasis)
-like eating glass (bloc party)
-where the streets have no name(u2)
-gimme shelter(rolling stones)
-let down(radiohead)
-when i come around (greenday)
-know your enemy(r.a.t.m)
-modern way(kaiser chiefs)
-run(snow patrol)
-rockin in the free world
-heartbeats(jose gonzales)
-

the last one is a mellow tune but i love to throw a few of them in ...i could list a hundred more but at the moment these are the ones which get me goin
