120lbs? I'm 6 feet 0" and 160lbs and people think I'm really skinny.

Well, getting back to the point, those times seem fine to me. You probably won't be winning an international competition anytime soon, but they aren't too shabby for a 14 year old. I'm too lazy to figure out how many feet 4.41 meters so you'll have to wait on a mainland European to tell you about that.

Your 800 and 1500m times are pretty much in line with each other. It's really weird to say to a runner, but if you put on some more muscle you would see these times improve dramaticly. Not bad though. Nothing is bad if you've given it your best effort.

Those times are even better if you think about it.

The kid probably has very little training in running.
With him being so tall and thin, his stride must be a bit awkward.

When I was in hgh school, we had this one half-miler who was 6'6".
He only ran his senior year.
He went from 2:30 to 1:57 in three months.

true. At 14 your body is still catching up with its self. Once your body gets done growing you'll be a ton better (provided you continue to practice). I think the biggest thing is to not listen to what people have to say if it isn't helpful to you. Take what you find helpful from people's advice and ditch what you think is too negative. That'll keep you possitive. Running is mostly mental anyhow. It isn't like football or some sport that requires a lot of hand-eye cordination. It's a mental game. So keep positive.

Well top of the tournament so far speaks for itself as far as Im concerned! Well done!

What you'll gain from this is the added motivation to go further and challenge yourself. Soon you'll find yourself trying to beat those times irregardsless of whether you're in a tournament or not.

At 14 you're body is probably yet to bulk out. Are you still growing upwards?

start with eating the right foods

Developing good dietary habits as young as possible is essential.

I am not exactly a huge, muscular guy; i'm more of a skinny guy with muscles. As I said before, I'm 6 feet 160lbs. This is what I do post run:

4 sets 30 crunches. After each set of crunches I do a set of 15 pushups. I do it all without rest so it adds onto my cardio as well as helping with my muscles.

Then I do two sets of 30 squats with my 38lb 3 year old riding on my shoulders.
I finnish with two sets of 10 pullups.

Also, once, or maybe twice, a week I do a full 45 minute pilates workout just to make sure I'm not neglecting anything.

It's not much, but it only takes about 10 minutes after a workout to do it and the results are worth it. I'm 32 years old and I can still run a 16 minute 5k and a 52 second 400m. I don't think I could do it if I didn't do a little strength training in addition to my running.

I suggest giving it a try and see how you feel. I don't think it'll take too much just to get enough muscle to make your body mechanicly efficient. I can't stress enough how much it helps.

EDIT: and do what homeydog says. I shop at the farmers market and whole foods. If you have a farmers market in your area, do it.
