Grandma's Marathon winner disqualified

Two-time Grandma's Marathon winner Halina Karnatsevich, of Belarus, has been stripped of her 2006 title and suspended from competition for two years after testing positive for a banned substance.

Karnatsevich, 37, tested positive for stanozolol, an anabolic steroid, according to the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) newsletter released Thursday. Stanozolol is the same substance that cost sprinter Ben Johnson his 1988 Olympic gold medal in the 100 meters.

What's up with that? Do lots of long distance runners use Stanozolol?

We covered this in biology class, stanzanol is an anabolic steriod, good for building muscle mass, but it is also very good at restoring muscle damage. This means that an endurance athlete can train harder and not wreck their muscles.

Oh and someone screwed with Ben Johnson's drug test. These athletes and coaches don't make mistakes. Supposedly Ben Johnson didn't use stanzanol, and he had been using drugs for 8 yrs without being caught.

Maybe dick pound got his hands on the samples? What about Floyd landis? Was he really doping?
