Default Metronome

I’m not exactly an avid runner, but I run every once and a while and have been thinking lately to train for a 5K or something, maybe even a mini triathlon. I was wondering if anyone has tried this or what, but I’ve always thought of instead of keeping a cadence to keep pace, since I listen to music anyway, to hear with the music a metronome with the beats per minute that match my running pace or even my cycling pace? Are there players out there that do this? If it’s a good idea, it would be nice to be able to change your bpm and metronome volume as you run depending on the volume of the music your playing and/or your inspiration to run faster or slower. Anyone tried this?

I think that some of the nike+ workouts run at set bpm's, though I don't think you can adjust on the fly -- of course, you get actual music, so there aren't any out-of-phase issues due to a timer and an ipod. But I've never tried it, so no real advice.

Hope it helped?

Thanks ROJOGO,

I just might get that, but does anyone know if there is a way, maybe with some sort of splitter so I can control the volume and functions on my ipod and the bpm volume and functions with my metronome and then I can just hear one on top of the other?
