My first 5k
Well, I decided at the start of the year I wanted to run a few 5k's this summer and what do ya know, there's one this saturday and I've decided I would like to do it.
I did a trial 5K run this morning on the treadmill in 36:15 which includes 2 mins of walking to start + 2 mins of walking at the 20 minute mark. I was shooting for 40 mins so overall I'm quite happy with the way I ran, my shirt was drenched in sweat. Tomorrow I'm going to do a short 2 mile outside jog to get to feel if being outside. the only other thing I need to get ready is my Ipod. Gotta get a good playlist in order so when I get to that last 1/2 mile I can get some good pumping music going to distract from the weariness.
Any other tips or tricks anyone have that might help??
