Looking for a new supplement.
Hi all!
Im looking for a new supplement where I will notice some actual results. Ive taken cellmass, gakic, NO Explode, and Nitrix, and nothing seemed to get me any decent results.
The NO-Explode helped with my energy levels before working out, but otherwise I didnt notice too much. And with the cellmass my strength increased a bit, but not enough to differentiate between the actual supplement and just working out.
I am just looking for something that will get me some good noticeable results, I am looking to build strength and muscle mass.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I am 18 years old, 200lbs (a bit on the "husky side"), and 6 feet tall.
I currently bench 200lbs for 10 reps, and have a max curl (with a bar) with about 120lbs.
Thanks for any help!!

I dont really take any of those but i know what they do. How long are you taking these supplements before you determine they arent working for you?
If you get your diet down pat, take a whey shake pre workout, sip on some bcaa/recovery drink during/after your workout and get a nice meal shortly after you will see some good gains at your age. Maybe throw down 5g of creatine in the morning and pre workout as well, choke down some cottage cheese at night or some other casein based protein supplement.
Also more info about your routine would help too, are you working out every day? how much rest between each muscle groups workout? rest is just as important as any supplement.

Well i Took NO Explode everyday for about 4 months straight, cellmass for one moneth straight, gakic on and off for a cpl weeks (it was supposed to generate an immediate increase in strength), and took nitrix everyday for one month.
I workout everyday except Saturdays which is my off day. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I focus on biceps with bicep curls.
On Sunday, Tuesdays, Thursdays I work on chest with benchpress.
I guess you could call me an upper body hog.
Ive recently came off a shoulder injury in which I couldnt workout for a month, so now I just want a supplement to help jumpstart my workout routine again.

I'll be honest and say that you'll probably get alot bigger bang for your buck by ditching those supps and just working on diet - unless you're aiming to be a powerlifter, you'll probably be happier once you get past that 'husky' thing.
Steak (grass fed, organic if possible). Fish. Eggs. Carrots. Peanut butter. Best substances known. Also: every vegetable you can get in your mouth, at any time of the day. And have some whole grain pasta after lifting.
If you absolutely, positively need a supplement name, though, I'm a big fan of EFA (essential fatty acid) -- it's not for the lifting, it's for the recovery (and really, that's the biggest single time for growth).

I agree with this advice. Also, make due with creatine and protein. Basics for muscle growth!

I'm looking to lose & tone
Unlike ColdFX, I'm looking to lose & tone up. I've lost a good amount of weight (about 100 lbs., down to 235) and am trying to lose 20-25 more pounds and really tone up. I've been taking omega-3, B-12, B-Complex, Vitamin C, & a multivitamin, but now I'm thinking about adding MegaMan Sport Plus to the equation and cutting out the multi.
I figure that this plus a step up in my workout (abs especially, I been lax on that) will help me really get stronger, tone up, & lose the little bit of a gut that I have (I gotta tighten up this stomach, it's driving me crazy). You guys in the know, let me know if this sounds like some steps in the right direction.

I think if you see something or read about something you want to try that is great, then you can test it, but in general I usually suggest:
protein powder
creatine
glutamine
Udos Oil
Usana Essentials and Proflavinols
greens plus, especially if you are shy on veggies
I don't do alot of experimentation with supps but found tribulis alone did nothing but am possibly going to try Zeus one day as a natural test booster but as a girl I am careful, and it has trib but other stuff too so I may try it as it is a mix.
I have had goo experience with NO Limits its a nitric oxide supp and I used this during bulking - max ot and hst and it did good to help with strength and a bit on recovery but it did so good with strength I over did it a bit and ended up with tightness in an area of an old car accident injury so you do need to make sure you stretch well each session and tons of water - I did not..........that is why it compounded into this tightness that only a deep tissue masseur could fix.
I have been testing ActivaTe and that has shown some great results in the sense that I feel strong with no hold back during weight trianing, I would not feel fatigue- of course I did not push it as I am still healing but I used it for cardio one day too and found that rather than getting lactic acid response in my legs, 'the burn'......I could just go and go and got winded.......before the legs burned........that was good. So for weights if I you push it, this product could give you extra reps, extra weight ability. I also notices my sore area seems to be healing well and not sure it is helping with tissue healing but it seems so!!
I will be doing a combo of both to try it out next week with the NO Limits and ActivaTe.
Both are Designer Supplement products and I was lucky enough to be chosen as a tester for them.
So I am only speaking on things I have tried.
Linda

You seriously isolate biceps three times a week? You might make some more gains by adding some back-based exercises. Pull ups, pull downs, and rowing require some bicep work, and they might be a bit more challenging if you're not used to them.

heres a supplement that is commonly overlooked......fish oil!!!!! fish oil has been proven to lower resting blood sugar and the blood sugar response of food wich is helpfull for fat loss.
in terms of muscle building you need to look at the anabolic effects of fish oil. nnot only will it help in detering fat gain, but it also aids in the release of free testosterone.
free testosterone is often bound up in a high to moderate carbohydrate diet and is also decreased through environmental estrogens. regardless if your a man or a woman you want to have a greater production of free testosterone and fish oil supplements will acomplish that. some of the research ive come accross also states 6 grams of fish oil daily will help your body better use its protein intake.

yeah man your right...dude def. needs to change his workout.
i have two different workout plans i switch with one another every month. ill do chest one day, bi's and tri's one day, back and shoulders one day and either a running day or a leg day..depending on how busy my weekend is.
my other workout plan is to go chest and tri's, back and bi's, and another day for shoulders.
you simply cannot work out the same muscle group 3 times in a week... assuming your getting the right amount of sleep your still not giving your body enough recovery time to show some gains.
if your looking to gain mass and strength my opinion is yeah a multi viatamin is a must. go out and buy two tubs of protein, almost any brand is good depending on taste, and juice up on that creatine. a pre workout energy booster almost always has creatine in it...i started mixing a lil extra pure creatine in it to give it more effect. drink a lot of water and hit the weights HARD, make your time spent in the gym worth while

as a wise member on this board once told me (adonis), you have to work the entire body to get good gains, especially if you are a hard gainer. The way I read is you don't do a leg workout. Those are the biggest muscles on the body working them will increase your overall body size. The other thing I read (again by adonis) you want to grow, along with a good diet and the right sups, which have already been discussed here, you must Bench, Squat, Deadlift, and Row. I followed this and began to see immidiate results.

as for the original poster if your gonna use creatine just make sure you drink plenty of water or the creatine can be a bit harsh on the kidneys. i dont know about everybody else but i can notice a difference when using it.

One that wont make me sick
One that wont make me crash my car
Or make me feel three feet thick
I want a new Supp
One that wont hurt my head
One that wont make my mouth too dry
Or make my eyes too red
One that wont make me nervous
Wondering what to do
One that makes me feel like I feel when Im with you
When Im alone with you
