Please check my figures- 6 lb from temp goal, must finish by Christmas!!
17 days to Christmas...
6 pounds to go to meet my "by-Christmas" goal...
My current 1700 Cals a day rule isn't getting me there fast enough.
Can it be done?????????
6 lb= 21,000 Cals/17 days =>
2704 Cals/day = my maintenance requirement
so......
(2704*17)-21,000/17= 1469 Cal/day is my limit, right??
Please tell me if I did this right. It is going to be hard to stay under 1500 cals for 2.4 weeks without binging- I get really hungry and grumpy if I drop much below 1650. Time to go to the grocery store and get the things I crave in controlled portions, because now is not a time to blow it! (like i did today, trying to eat my migraine away!)

To be anal about it, I think it's ((2407*17)-21,000)/17
I'd say that yes, 6 pounds in 24 hours under 3 weeks is very do-able. My only q's would be how your weightloss has been going so far, and - more generally - if it's OK to drop to about 1/2 of your maintenance requirement.
But yes, your math was right. Can't help w/ the hungry/grumpy - doesn't sound fun for the holidays, though.

Instead of eating 1/2 what you need, have you considered increasing the calories you burn every day by a bit of exercise ... It's far healthier.

Thanks, I'm always uncertain of anything to do with math So far, weightloss has been steady, but slooow- at half the rate I had expected when I started around this time last year. I had expected to lose 40 lb in a year. If I make my current goal, it will be 26 lb in a year. But despite the slowness, it keeps progressing....
I will be trying to up my exercise as time allows- I already do some, but I'm adding in some more serious horseback riding and heavy work around the house/farm to get ready for the holidays, too. looks like I've got some serious meal planning to do!

If you believe in yourself, it can most definitely be done. You can do it!

for sure, go hard a few days and you can drop half of it right there, go hard on cardio for a few days and diet hard, just a few days won't catabolize you....
