Soy?
I've been quite confused lately..
I would say about 2 - 3 weeks ago I started drinking Soy milk.. Now I seem to be hearing that Soy milk is not too good for men? Anyway, I was curious as to what would be more beneficial, Soy milk, or Skim Milk? Or would powdered milk be my best choice for substituting milk all together?

Soy contains isoflavones. Isoflavones are a naturally occurring plant estrogen in soy protein. Some research has demonstrated that these may raise estrogen levels in men.
I would go with the skim milk. Powdered milk would just add a step (having to rehydrate it) so I don't see how it would be beneficial.

well some of the controversy over soy milk is that it lowers our natural test levels, other then that its not that bad. for each his own. now on the otherhand i had grown up on soy as a infant do to my lactose intolerance and for some odd reason i still cant stand the taste...lol
so now i use 2% cow milk and add lactaid to digest.

There's a school of thought that says soy products can mimic estrogen in men - it's the same theory as why women in menopause are told to increase their soy intake.
I can't break down how beneficial it is for women (I'm a dude, and I assume you're not by the forum ), but my general theory is that food becomes worse for you the more it's modified: so because soybeans in no way look like soy milk (and it's not just a process of squeezing them to get the soy liquid into the 'milk' form), I'd recommend sticking with skim milk.
If anyone has more female-specific knowledge, I'd be interested to hear it -- and congrats on making your first post!

I think in balance its fine but they are also saying now it affects memory, and they are more concenred about those findings than the whole 'men should not take soy' crap.
