Default How Did Your Gardens Fare?

Now that my vegetable garden is pretty well all finished producing...with the exception of beets which I will pick this week-end or next. I am curious how everyone else's gardens turned out what with the wierd summer weather we all experienced.

My garden produced peas and romaine till about the end of August. I picked the last of my green beans 2 week-ends ago a real bumper crop the peas and beans were this year! My broccoli only did florets and my silly cauliflower didn't show it's white head till a few weeks ago (way too late in our season here). My tomatoes didn't doe so well due to the weather, I had to pick most of them while still green. My corn? Was a disaster......it grew, but then the deer/coyotes ate all but 6 cobs of it......had lots of zukes, but should have had more due to the weather. Had spaghetti squash too, and should have yeilded more.....good fruits, just the flowers kept falling off the plants. I'm almost done with my swiss chard, I still have it growing allbeit much slower now.....great hearty crop!! I suspect it could keep going till the first deep freeze. We have had some frost which has killed off most of the other plants, but this stuff still stays strong! None of my peppers even showed their faces this side of the dirt....that was disappointing, but try try again!!

Next year I will omit the broccoli and cauliflower and try yams and continue to try different peppers.

My flower beds are all resting till spring now.....some minor prep work for winter, but nothing much aside from mulch and covering some precious plants.

So, how did everyone else who gardens fare this year?

we had some huge tomatos, I should post the pics, good with peas, beans, currants, strawberries, cherries were crazy, poor with figs this year and grapes, spices were okay.
plums were poor, carrots tiny, beets okay.....lettuce behind, some flowers never came........
