first off how old are you? be nice to know a little bit more about you like age stats etc. before making recomendations. but heres a few anyways. purchase some casein or whey protein powder or both and hit the gym and train heavy low sets low reps and build a foundation first.
but before going heavy it would probably be advisable to go with lighter weights first and work your way up to heavier weights to avoid injuries. do a search here on this sight for a workout. for starters adonis has plenty workouts posted for beginners to advanced, amongst many other peoples suggestions also. also creatine is beneficial for muscle fuel and endurance in the gym. i would start with at least those 2 basic items. pay attention to form starting out also. you will benefit more from proper form over bouncing it off your chest to get it up for example (barbell) wich a lot of people starting out do. smooth fluid like action to your lifts!

I'd tell you - and practically everyone - that supplements are going to be a waste until you get your diet in order. They're supposed to supplement, after all - not form the basis of your intake.

If you're new to training, spend 3-4 months just doing the basics - whether building a fitness base for those who are out of shape, or working on your bench/squat/deadlifts/rows for those who are working to build muscle on top of their base - and see what your progress is. I'll guarantee you that you'll get alot more out of creating an efficient diet than you will by using some supplements.

But yes, wildstang's right - protein powder's used to pretty much everyone who's building muscle mass. Impossible to give further recommendations without more personal info, though.
