best tasting whey and casein products
i was doing a search on protein supps and noticed there was a thread with a similar inquiry like mine. question is what is your favorite whey protein drink and your favorite casein drink.
ive tried many over the years and like pro-nos dutch chocolate for my whey and muscle milk for my casein.
i know everybody preaches eat real food, but sometimes its just not feasible to when sick, or dont have time to put that dinner together.
ive tried so many supps over the years and had some pretty nasty stuff like GNC's name brand stuff......lol in the 70 and 80s before tatse became a factor in the supps, things were down right nasty tasting, almost on the verge of barfing. just thought i'd restart another thread on this. have at it guys and girls.

My favorite - Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey, Gold Standard!
Muscle Milk is great tasting, almost like a real shake.. I take that before bed every night because it is a higher calorie shake and I'm looking to put on weight. I also take 100% pure monohydrate creatine.

Agree 100%. Muscle Milk tastes great (all flavors so far). But I only use this from time to time.
For everyday use, I don't stray from ON gold standard. Best bang for your buck. Buy the 10 lb bag, and you don't have to worry about other brands

I think I've tried 100 different protein powders over the years. I agree that Optimum is best. I am currently taking Iron-Tek's casein protein. Mixes well and tastes good. I buy it locally at a healthfood store. I wait for it to go on sale and then I can get it for ~$32.00 for a 5 lb. can.
As for creatine, it pretty much all tastes like crap, grainy and blah! I am using a new product from Optimum called Vassive CE. It has creatine ethyl ester and glutamine (among other things) the blue raspberry tastes great! Seems to work well too!

ON's Vannilla Casein tastes like vanilla pudding. Their vanilla Natural (no artificial flavouring) isn't great but tastes great when mixed with pinapple juice, banana's or the casein.

American whey wild berry. I get 25 lb 5 gallon buckets for $150 on the net. Its highly concentrated, and tastes awesome. I get 200+ gms of protein a day with it, lasts 2 months. I buy two at a time because sometimes this oddball flavor is in short supply.

Where do you order the unflavored whey at? I've tried searching for it so I can mix with yogurt or oatmeal and I haven't been able to find any....

I get unflavored whey from Jarrow - they sell it at Whole Foods, or - if I think ahead - it's a bit cheaper online. I think Vitacost is the site I used, but I usually just search "Jarrow unflavored whey" at google and order whoever's cheapest (and I love unflavored for mixing - I think that any kind of vanilla in oatmeal turns it nasty).
Any other powder I'd use will be a whey/casein mix - I'm a met-rx fan from way back, have biotest right now (a bit expensive and not really revolutionary, but it's the best chocolate I've had - add a banana and I never need dessert).

I like Optimum as well, but lately I have fallen in love with Biotest Metobolic drive (used to be Low Carb Grow).

I may not be as old as you guys, but I do remember the old protein powders, they were so gross, and very chalky. I remember just by looking inside the container it came in, the powder would have "chunks" inside as well, just made me want to vomit, definitely needed the blender for it.
