DHEA-self-experiment (validated results)
Hi fellas.
Some time ago I mentioned in this forum my low testosterone levels.
I got the advice to try DHEA, a (legal) pre-cursor hormone.
I did try it and had a re-check by my Dr. (Ph.D.).
Please, see the results and decide for yourself.
Supplement: DHEA 100 (Bionutricals, FL)
Period of usage: 8 weeks, 2 caps/day (200mg DHEA)
Before:
SHGB (Sex hormone-binding globuline): 14 nmol/l (average: 10-40)
Testosterone: 2,98 ug/l (average: 3-10)
After:
SHGB: 9,01 nmol/l
Testosterone: 2,6 ug/l
Free Testosterone: 8,4 ng/l (average: 9-27)
So, obviously, THIS particular product doesn't work for ME.
Any more suggestions?

that is strange ive had my test results done out of curiosity, and dhea has been slightly beneficial towards raising my numbers. not as much as i wouldve liked but im also only using 50mg a day. from what research ive come accross the recomended dosage was 25 to 50mg a day. guessing here.....200mg may be acting as if it was a minor steroid cycle on your body and as a result slowed or partially shut down your natural levels. as i said this is just a guess. everybodys body responds differently to drugs then the person next to them. 200mg for me may actually help out more and the next guy it can be detremental too. it would appear you have some hormone problems building and may require testosterone shot therapy. have you done previous AS cycles?

Hm, a too high dosage you say? This product has 100mg DHEA per capsule. The recommendation is 1-2/day. But what's the difference anyway? Before the supplementation my body produced that little T and during that cycle the amount didn't increase at all. I would agree with you, if there had been a spike during the usage and a significant downfall after it. But zippo. Maybe it was just a low quality product and I should try another brand? By the way, I haven't ever taken any AS.
Thanks for your suggestions anyway. You're absolutely right: everything works for everybody differently.
