Default when to take supplements?

ran a search on fish oils, found a thread about top five supplements Only 5 Supplements
which got me thinking about the title of this thread.

When is it best to take supplements? I learned that protein is best before or after a workout [i do it after] but what about something like fish oil or bcaa or multivitamins?

is it ok to take fish oil and a multi in the morning or best to spread out the supplements during the course of the day?

best time for supps is never once you figure out how to eat right

bcaa's however are said to work best before and after workouts.
Fish oils and vitimins you would want to take with food so they can attach themselves and get absorbed instead of being pissed out.

Most supps are best taken with food as mooshue stated. Some are best on an empty stomach. Read the label.

Agree only to a point about not needing supps. Eating right is the best way to get what you need, but it would be difficult to eat enough each day to get EVERYTHING you need if you're working out seriously. For example, I would never eat enough fish to not have to take my fish oil supps (and it would be dangerous if I did every day anyway).

Eating right is a big struggle for me. Also because I work construction and workout I think taking supplements are pretty much mandatory for me untill I'm out of the business. [digress]*crossing fingers* 2 more years...[/digress]

taking a multivitamin. if it is a table does it make sense to take half a tablet at two different meals during the day or does that not even matter?

toonces: why would it be dangerous? b/c of the mercury?

First answer, just take the vitamin with your morning meal. Second question, you nailed it!
